It's a great movie. Just hilariously funny. They sure bring the US Godzilla. And the real Japanese Godzilla beats the crap out of him first, before approaching to fight the other monsters.
LOL, that sold me, i want to get this film now :D :D. Hopefully a nice dvd will be released soon :D

Have you watched it, yet? It's a great film, don't you think? Especially if you consider what kind of a devoted actor Christian Bale is. Man, he looks like a corpse in that film.

A book from Amazon.de:
My Name is Red - by Orhan Pamuk

Read the first few pages and it is quite good so far. It is a detective story which takes place in the 16th century Ottoman Empire.

Do you think it's worth getting? OK, stupid question, as you HAVE ordered it, but can you tell us about the 2nd disc when you receive it and if the picture quality of the main feature is any better than the original release.

Today, I received my paycheck, so I simply meant to pre-order To's "Election" and "Sympathy for Lady Vengeance". I ended up ordering:

Election (HK Double Disc)
Sympathy for Lady Vengeance (Korean R3)
The Bow (Korean R3)
The Hidden Blade (HK Double Disc)
Seven Swords (HK Double Disc)
A Moment to Remember (HK DVD)
Be With You (HK DVD)
Wait 'til You're Older (HK DVD)
All About Love (HK Usual 2disc-release)
7-Man Army (Shaw Brothers)
Heaven's Bookstore (HK DVD)

Salaam LostDragon,

Will do mate, apparently the quality has improved alot, especially the Arabic Version, which is what i am after. I have the original Anchor Bay release, but that was a flipper,

Here is someone mini review from Amazon website:
"The Message" tells the story of the birth of Islam, from the Prophet Muhammad's first revelation from God to his death. The film follows the Prophet's story (though never showing the Prophet himself, as Islamic tradition ordains) as he starts with a handful of believers, and over the coarse of 23 years, establishes a mighty force that shook the world. The story is most excellent. The script was well written and approved for its accuracy in telling the story of the Prophet. The actors are wonderful in portraying the people who were in involved the Prophet's life. Anthony Quinn is simply magnificent as Hamza, the Prophet's uncle. The cinematography of the film is breathtaking. The Oscar-nominated music for the film by Maurice Jarre is phenomenal. The director, Moustapha Akkad, could not have done a better job. This film is without a doubt a perfect 10.

Now, about the special features: The film comes in two discs, the first is the English version of the film and the second is the Arabic version of the film. The two versions of the film were shot together by two separate casts. Akkad originally made the film so he would have an instrument to teach his children the history of their faith, as well as the general public at large. And since he had established his life in California, he initially wanted to make the film in English. He then realized he wanted to pay homage to the religion by presenting it in the language that the events happened in, so he made a valiant effort to bring together actors from the Arab world to play the parts in the film. The film is handsomely presented in anamorphic widescreen. The sound is presented in its original Stereo 2.0 surround sound mix. Both the video and audio have been remastered for this release. The DVD also includes an enlightening commentary track by Producer/Director Moustapha Akkad on both versions of the film (English commentary for the English version of the film and Arabic commentary for the Arabic version of the film). Also, there is a Making of an Epic: Mohammad - Messenger of God (the working title for the film) that runs for approximately 44 minutes.

I highly recommend this movie for anyone who wants to learn about the history of Islam, the Prophet Muhammad, or just wants to watch a great epic movie.
Normally Anchor Bay are very good at there rerelease. Will report more to you :)

By the way 13 Neighbour is brilliant, i have posted a mini review, i think you will like it, if you like slow, surreal, psychological movies :D

Having recently come back from India, I'm in a bit of a Bollywood mood. So I ordered:

Black
Veer Zaara
Ramayan
Layer Cake

Ok so the last one is not exactly Bollywood but it's kinda similar imo.

Veer Zaara is excellent, some people have put it down and said it not as good as Kal Ho naa ho, but they are completely different movies. I like the way movies are now bridging Pakistan and Indian, let hope that continues. You should also check out Main Hoon Na, which has a similar policatal motive to the movie, and the songs are great.

Hope you enjoy it, although Layer Cake i don't think is similar. In Fact LC is a gangster british flick, it very good, but quite the opp of indian movies :D :D :D
