I thought you might pull me on that one, haha. Okay, it is genuinely a good film. I just watched it too soon after the first time around.

Actually saw Trail of Blood on TV a couple of days ago. It’s good you got all three DVDs because the story isn’t over after the first part. I hope they show the other two parts soon.
Got these on Yes Asia's popcorn night deals. Don't know if they are any good or not.
Ba Dao Sha Xing
Five Element Ninjas
Laser Mission
Martial Angels
Shanghai
The Angry River
The Bride With White Hair
The Lost Bladesman
Does anyone know the English title for the first film? It stars Sonny Chiba and Sibelle Hu.
The Bride with White Hair seems to be the longer version of the film. I wonder what the differences are between this and the shorter American release.

Gas, do you order BDs just because they're from Criterion?

If the film looks good, yes

I'm sure we all used to do it with HKL's too!

How much was Diabolique, Gas?
Strange they've gone with the title of the US remake on the cover (it should be Les Diaboliques).

It came to £19.47 altogether, from Barnes & Noble.

I watched Diabolique last year and it did nothing for me.
Honestly I thought it was poor man's Hitchcock.

Well I'll have no trouble at all selling it for a good price if I don't like it anyway

Most people appear to like it so presumably I'm in the minority.
But I'd pick any of Hitch's B&W films to watch again first.

Hitch just missed out on the rights to the novel of Les Diaboliques and was hacked off - the writers instead offered him the book that became Vertigo.

I didn't know that, but glad it happened that way; Vertigo is a masterpiece.
