The Shining is a pathetic film with no scares and no common sense and some appauling overacting. Kubrick a his ego worst, its about as scary as a turd in a swimming pool, which you are not in.

Looks good and like the definite release, doesn't it? Or has anything been changed again (cuts, soundtrack etc etc).

The HMV cover looks awesome. They should have made this the universal one.

Until reviews of course no one can say for sure but people are saying the cinema print was fine so it's highly unlikely this won't be.

The R1 is going to be cut and the Korean R3 has dodgy subs + no English friendly extras. No other version has English subs. So yes it's the definitive version unless the R4 from Madman (I think) beats it but what could they add of any great extra value? Answer nothing.

Personally I'd say they're as good as each other. I'm certainly not paying more just for a better picture.

The regular version will be under a tenner not before long.

Well the extras are poor from the reviews I have read so far

just endless interviews like most crappy KL and PA title

it will be 6 quid by Christmas anyway, no way I will buy a PA title new.

That's to much. It's needs to be £9.99 before I'm interested.

If Ong-bak was outstanding then £10.99 would be fine but OB is far from outstanding so I have a heavy level of caution.

however, i never pay more than £8 for a dvd, thats the max i will pay, below £6 if i can get it. helps with the student discounts and the sales. just cant afford to pay much for stuff lol

Ong-bak is a mile-stone in action cinema. Plus the making-off is definately a keeper, if you're into martial arts action movies.
For me, OB is a keeper. Not a movie I will watch time and time again, but whenever I come across someone who hasnt seen it yet and is interested in action flicks, I'll lend/burn it to/for him/her.

The interesting thing about TYG is that you can see how much of a success "Ong-Bak" was. Only from the trailer of TYG you could see that they had a lot more money.

I absolutely love the action in TYG. There are so many fights shot for a couple of seconds/minutes without a cut, it's just mind-blowing.

What I miss in TYG though are the little fights you had in "Ong-Bak". The tournament-like combats. In TYG it's all very evil thugs versus good guy, while in "Ong-Bak" you had people like Toshiro, simply fighting for a buck. They basically have different motives. The only person in TYG where I had the feeling that he was fighting for the sake of competition or combat was Lateef Crowder's character (the capoeira guy from Zero Gravity).
