A Darkseid story would be interesting. One from the cartoon where Darkseid brainwashes Supes into thinking that he's his malevolent son, thus having him leading Darkseid's army to conquer Earth.
This leads Batman putting a plan in motion to destroy Superman. Of course they couldn't have Batman in a Superman movie, otherwise it'd be flogged off by critics as a lame "Versus" movie.

That darkseid story where he brainwashes Superman into thinking h's Darkseid's sons, was based on a story by Byrne. Good story as well. But in Byrne's version Darkseid didnt use Superman to attack earth, but to control his own planet.
the story was spread over 3 issues, and sadly Byrne only did the art for 2 of those issues, while the other issue was done by a crap artis. i believe it was Joel Schuster, but I'm not sure.
