Surprised it's a PG.
I saw a clip this morning where Maggie brandishes a broken bottle.

Nice that they've shot it in scope. Looks very cinematic. Hope it's a bunch of laughs on a par with the early 90s series.

A solid opening but nowhere near some of the bigger blockbusters. i imagine a sharp 2nd week drop off,still it should clear 120 million domestic which should ensure a sequel.

Yeah but Simpsons cost much less. I dont think people expected it would do that much as $70m+, that's its budget made back right there.

true but Simpsons is one of the biggest tv shows in the world,i thought it might have took nearer 100 million given it's short running time (more screenings per day)

Yeah I know what you mean but I think those are good numbers considering the movie isnt being made at the height of the shows popularity like in the early-mid 90's (though it is still popular).
