You guys sound surprised? I hear it's even worse than the shite that is Pirates 2. You've only got yourself to blame for paying to see this crud ;)

Kermode's rant was funny though, as was Mayo going to sleep during the Video Podcast :D . Kermode is also the only other person I know who thought Pirates 1 rubbish.

I wasnt even a huge an of the 1st movie. Felt Depp was great, but Bloom was awfull in that. Story was OK although a bit too long, and the supporting cast was pretty mediocre for the most part.

Havent seen part 2, cause people said it was just a half movie cause they left everything open for part 3... and now part 3 is out and supposedly is very mediocre as well... so not sure if I'll watch the last 2 movies.

It's a shame really. The premise is just great, they had a huge budget and they had Depp in topform in a very well written role (although I believe most of his part can be credited to him and his way of playing it). But Orlando Bloom is just a sucky actor, and on top of that his character in the movie just totally sucks as well.
Knightly is OK I guess, although again the writing isnt great.

They could have and should have done so much better with this trilogy. It could have been a classic, but as it stands now, it seems like it's just a wasted opportunity.

I was there, the big BNB blackout of november, 2008. We lost many that day...

No... who's surprised? My expectations were low to begin with.

Well I have a cineworld pass - the only thing I lost out on was 3 hours, which I could've spent watching another movie. But life is such a gamble these days.
