Knetan is Kenneth Brorsson aka Kenny B from Soooo Good Reviews, Sleazy K's Videos and Podcast On Fire. He's still very active, though he doesn't really frequent forums any more.

I remember back in the day (when I first joined BnB) I wasnt used to forums so felt so happy when I'd get a reply to a thread

Yeah, he's a good guy. I use his sites a lot, and listen to pretty much every podcast he does with the gang at POF. Plus their commentaries are always fun.

I miss the old days of film fandom forums, where it was relatively new, everyone seemed excited to be there, enthusiasm was overflowing, rares were unearthed, new releases were met with cheer and it was just a generally positive vibe all around.

It changed somewhere along the way. Obviously the novelty of internet fan communities wore off, but people became more jaded and angry. New releases were met with scorn and disappointment, topics grew stagnant, trolls flooded the boards, mods became mad with power etc. I include myself in some of this. I became more jaded, more critical and less tolerant, just like many others. I could be a royal douche to people if they annoyed me, or I had a bad day. I eventually got tired of it all, and tired of myself being dick to people, so I took a break, and decided to change my ways. I'ts a work in progress, cuz im not really the run away or turn the other cheek kind of person, so restraint is a must. But it's just unnecessary negative energy that I don't need in my life. Can't be bothered.

Sometimes people disappear for no discernible reason.
We haven't seen Yi-Long or Romero for ages for example.
I don't think anyone has been banned from here.
I guess they just got bored or found something better to do... lol

You wouldn't believe it now, but the original Bullets used to be packed with conversation.
After the site move, many years ago, most of the members didn't bother re-registering and those that did drifted away...

That's a shame. Most of the forums I use to frequent are wastelands now. Some are on life support, with the same four or five hardcore members still mulling around, but most are just dead. And like i've mentioned in the past, I have ZERO people to talk genre movies with in real life. KFC is really the last place where there are some actual activity, but i've been kinda taking a break from there the last month or so.

I listen to a lot of movie podcasts now. Then I can at least listen to other people talking about flicks... sad as that may sound.

I do have friends who enjoy kung fu cinema, even if they're not experts.

The death of Linn marked the end of the various forums being a source of fantastic historical information.

There are some real experts still out there, but naturally they don't post as often as we do!

I think a lot of the old genre "scholars" was turned off by all the bickering and drama that plagued many forums. A shame, but understandable. Though you can, to a point, just focus on the good stuff and ignore the bad stuff. But I really don't blame them if some of them just said "fuck it, im done!".

That became a huge problem on Classic Horror Film Board, as the old school scholars were constantly squabbling with each other, and some left in an understandable huff, because the mods wouldn't reign in the bad eggs (yet banned everyone else!)

Yea instead of bothering you in writing, I mostly bother people aurally now through all the podcasts as a co-host and producer. No one wins
