I'm the complete opposite. I grew up in (relative) poverty, so I know how it was without any money and I know how easy it is to lose it all, so I try to cling on to it as tightly as possible.

I have a 'budget' for 'entertainment', which is roughly 100 euro a month, but I try to save a little bit every month.

Will be more difficult the coming year though, when I've moved to Hong Kong. I expect to have a daily expense of around 15 euro (around 150hk$), which is roughly, excluding rent (which I've already paid ahead)

Recieved Dressed to Kill (Pulsions) BD from Amazon.fr - very impressive since it was only sent on release day (I think) and I ordered it when the price dropped.

Dressed To Kill is great but Bound is very average imo...no way a keeper (for me)

Received: New One Armed Swordsman German LE BD

extremely english-friendly and also extremely expensive. No frame cuts like the celestial version.

Indeed it looks expensive - will stick with the R1 for now.

I didn't think there was anything 'average' about BOUND. I haven't seen it for a few years but I remember it being an audacious neo noir debut for the Wachowskis. I hope my favourable memory holds. French BD cost me about the same price as you'd pay for the US Olive release which loses all extras and (oddly) the original 5.1 track.

I don't think Bound is average either, very stylish.

Why are B&N so slow?
I ordered Rashomon BD on 11 November - only NOW (almost 2 weeks later) do I get an email saying "You order has been shipped", they said it was in stock FFS, it shouldnt take two weeks to ship

I ordered it about a week ago and only received shipping notice yesterday, so it does sound like it was OOS when you ordered it.

And now you'll have a 4-6 week wait for the package haha.

Arrow 3 Disc BD Steelbook

Image

This has been an amusing adventure with the Arrow Battle Royale BD's...
2010: buy the limited edition box set for £18
2011: sell the (used) limited edition box set for £47
2012: buy the steelbook for £13

Now, I have the same three discs as in 2010, though in an improved package, and I seem to have gotten £16 richer :D

Tomorrow will be exactly ONE MONTH since our Barnes & Noble order was supposedly shipped.

Won't be ordering from them again.

I didnt understand what the "Tick this box if you want your order tax exempt" was all about, will they still mark my order as a book? :?
Do B&N list their packages as books? Just placed a huge order of criterions with them, and despite ticking the box for them to ship it in as few packages as possible, they've gone and split it up into 5 shipment, potentially costing me £24 extra in post office charges if they all get hit! :o
I received two of those 5 shipments today, both well over the customs limit price-wise and both labelled as books, so customs free!
Two of the remaining three parcels yet to arrive from B&N are under the £15 limit, so I only have one more shipment to worry about now!
