Just got back today from a camping trip on a lake in the woods with a bunch of little girls. It was incredible! Last night we experienced quite the electrical storm, with lightning striking the trees around the lake where we were huddled in tents. It was a real character-building experience for the girls (my oldest daugher included). What an adventure. :) I can't wait to do it again.

Now, to sleep in my own bed. :P

Lightning was striking the trees?! That's mildly disconcerting to read.
How far away from your tent were these strikes?

I would have needed a new pair of pants.

All within a quarter mile radius of where we were camping. It was a fast-moving storm, with about three rather intense bands that moved through.

edit:
The lake where we were camping Saturday night was near here, in the same county.

Gah!
Well, I suppose it must have been character-building (not to mention trouser-filling) stuff. I mean, I've been camping before, and in a variety of weather conditions, but that sounded a little too close for comfort.
Glad to hear that you came out of it OK and, I hope, with a greater respect for Mother Nature

My computer can't recognize my Samurai Wolf 2 dvd. It plays fine on my dvdplayer, but my computer keeps saying "no disc". Is there anything that can be done for it?

Posted: 25 May 2006, 16:39
by tom2681
That's why I have 2 DVD-Rom drives.
An LG and a Pioneer. This way I'm sure all discs are recognized.

Nothing can be done, sorry. You could always try cleaning the disc, the lens or updating your DVD-Rom firmware.

went hospital for the check up today, got tehre at 9am didnt leave until 2pm, ended up being injected with radio active dye for a bone scan, for them to tell me the "good" news that my wrist actually isnt broken, what they saw was an old fracture that hadnt healed properly...but rather i've badly damaged the ligaments, muscles and tissue around my wrist and it will take the rest of the summer to heal, yay...i think i'd rather of had the broken bone lol it heals within a few weeks!
