Well basically I "know" that because I never remember seeing those nanchacku parts I just mentioned in the UK version. Even when they were repeated a few years ago on TV, episodes were still cut. The irony is that if they were submitted to the BBFC today, they'd be uncut with U or maybe PG certs at a push.
I didnt know they were uncut in NZ, cool. Even in France they were called "Les Tortues Ninja" (I think).

Wow, a coupla episodes are quite heavily cut over here - "Return of the Shredder" (S2, Episode 1) is cut by 13s, "Return of the Technodrome" (S2 still) is cut by a whopping 33s. Bloody BBFC. Those are very old classifications though that I'm sure today the episodes would be uncut.

All the nanchuku footage was cut from UK versions, plus any references to ninjas - the Foot Clan or Foot Ninjas are called "Foot Soldiers" in the UK version

Hi Grim, Cheer for the headup, I think Thundercats is also the same, the A/V is not brillaint. Prob because it would have taken the company a long time to remaster the epsiodes fully. So they used broadcast tapes instead.
Still I want to get this, where did you buy it from, what was the cheapest price.

Thundercat set annoys me, as you have Vol 1, Set 1, Vol 1, Set 2 and then Vol 2...

Yeah, well I guess because Thundercats had only 2 loooong seasons or something (65 episodes each, not sure) - so they were split into volumes with 33 episodes each.

Yes, it is. Van Damme takes revenge on the killer of his wife (Simon Yam) who is a triads boss. Van Damme himself has connections to the Italian/French mafia though who are his good friends. There are some tough torture sequences. I think it is also one of Van Damme's better acting performances.

Whats funny about the "Curse of the Evil Eye" TMNT episode is several in-jokes.
After losing his job, Mr. Blochett (sp?) picks up a self-help tape called "How to Fix Your Messed Up Life" by Walt Kubiak, who is the shows producer.
At the end of the episode when he's flicking channels, the TV features take-offs of cartoons The Smurfs, The Chipmunks and even TMNT itself

It's a shame that one of the primary TMNT creators (can't remember which one) is only doing scifi-fetish porn comics now (the French dung-pile Heavy Metal).

www.gpstore.co.nz, I arranged to pick it up in order to save on the $4 shipping that it otherwise cost to courier to my house. NZ release date is simultaneous as the Aussie one (the local distributor normally releases them about a month after Aussie in order to have time for the DVD contents to be classified by the NZ OFLC) prolly cuz Howl's is a high profile release.

No thanks. All the Madman Ghibli releases aside from Howl's are NTSC>PAL travesties. I'm gonna get the R1's of the other Ghibli films that I want, I don't give a shit about start-up trailers and John Lasseter gushings, the transfers are paramount in this case.
