World Exclusive: The Joker Speaks:

This is not your Jack Nicholson or Cesar Romero Joker. The new incarnation of the character is cruel and psycho to the core.

New trailer.

International poster:-

Bootleg of the first 5 mins, currently being shown before the IMAX version of I Am Legend in the US. Might be pulled sometime, I'm not watching it regardless.

Thanks.

Strangely both the High and Best Trailers are 1080p but one has a bitrate of 597Kbps and the other 711Kbps. Pity there is no 720p trailer.

I'm not watching that opening sequence either. I heard it was 7 minutes.

Why is it not being called: Batman: The Dark Knight though. I don't get why you can't call a film by it's name or sequel number any more.

All sequels (eg the Bonds) were titled in such a way prior to The French Connection 2. It's just come full circle.

You don't need Batman in the title (for brand recognition) anyway, the name "The Dark Knight" is synonymous with Batman in the mainstream.

You reckon? Obviously it won't matter as everyone will just call it Batman 2 but I doubt most people know what it means.

Warner Bros. definitely know what they're doing. It's a production that cost them hundreds of millions. So I am pretty sure that there were a lot of heads who thought about an appropriate title. They can't afford to chose an inappropriate title. I am pretty sure that those who didn't know who the Dark Knight was before, will definitely know after 2008. And there are millions of Batman fans who all know that he is called The Dark Knight.

Watched the new trailer....

Hmmm.... Not sure what to make of it.....?

I was entertained by BEGINS and this looks like more of the same.

But I hope they cut down on the speechifying this time and go for a more natural approach.

In my childhood I remember the TV being bombarded for years with Batman toys ads, featuring a deep-voiced announcer yelling lines such as "Batman, the dark knight!". You can't get any more mainstream than that. So it should be burned into the psyche of at least males of my generation, i.e. likely one of the main target audiences.

Speechifying? Are you referring to the gravel voice Batman has? I thought it worked perfectly. :)
