How is the R4 different?
I'll watch Perdita first and see if I like it, its annoying its non anamorphic :x (at least its widescreen and uncut).
The German release is anamorphic but supposedly OOP.

Sorry to crash in on the post, but I DO!! . It a great b movie film, I have the region 1 version, but may upgrade to the r4, so will prob trade or sell it.
I have the japanese disc and the image is otherwise great but some scenes are surprisingly grainy considering this is a brand new film. I'm perfectly happy with my dvd, but I was wondering if other releases have similiar problems?

I was fortunate enough and caught it in a huge ass cinema. It was packed with people and I never experienced such a great atmosphere before. People clapped and cheered upon Godzilla's first appearance.

As for the grain... isn't it funny how all Kitamura films are kinda grainy at some points? I guess it is there on purpose due to his love for 1980's movies.

Hey LD, I've decided to add the original Godzilla (the 1954 one) to my rental queue. I've only seen one Godzilla movie - Godzilla v Mothra (I think).

Yes Final War is a bit grainy but it a load of fun. I have the original BFI version as well as the Madman R4 release (which has two cuts of the film). I will be putting that up for trade as well.

Anyway back to Final War it is a lot of fun, and shame on me for saying, Godzilla is pretty cute  in this.

I also have on Region 4:
Godzilla vs Mechagodzilla (Yumiko Shaku from Sky High and The Princess Blade - She is really really cute :D )
Godzilla, Mothra And King Ghidorah - Giant Monsters All-Out Attack

Both are outstanding, the A/V is top notch - Very clean print. Also both are highly recommended

Nothing today
I got a "Unfortunately you were out" card from Royal Mail while I was still in the house this morning! :? Apparently the package was too big for the letterbox (maybe it was the Lone Wolf and Cub set) but the postie didnt even knock on the fucking door or ring the bell!

I left the office a message and asked them to redeliver it :) So hopefully it will come tomorrow.
It mightnt have been that set, maybe it was something else - the Armour of God HK set?
I'd imagine the LW+C box would be quite big - it is 6 amaray cases right?

The same with me :D... Did you get a big packaging then? They know how to safetly store they stuff. If you have a quick peek, please could you tell us your views on my other lone wolf thread, i can't see any difference with the a/v on this than on the r1 version.

To go back on topic

Just Recieved from CD-WOW - Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire - Should have been the UK release, but it isn't. There is english writing at the back, but no BBFC certificate.

Yeah, the box was pretty big - nicely tied up though and easy to open.
Did you notice a big blue sticker on the bottom of the box? I tried peeling it off but it doesnt seem to come off and I dont want to ruin the box - oh well.
(Same with the blue sticker covering the barcode).

Actually I *have* managed to remove them (with fingernails and wet tissue and then drying everything with a hairdryer). Pain in the ass though :D
The cardboard is quite cheap but I wasnt expecting much.
Do you know how to change a discs locality in Profiler? I selected the Region as R3 but Profiler only gave me an option of HK, Korea, Indonesia and Taiwan. Thailand wasnt there? :?

Japanese or UK? The UK one is cut and I only bought it additionally to the Japanese for the subbed extras.

I used to be "the man who loves the movies you hate".
Now I'm just "that weird french guy with a cat avatar who comes to BnB once a year for no reason and then disappears again".
