You would think the Bruce Lee films would sell well though.

I was merely commenting on who're most likely to pick them up, not how good they are. There most recent BDs have been much better than their prior ones.
Markgway wrote:Grim - Compare Fox's UE DVD with Deltamac's BD. The master Fox already possess (assuming they still have it) is clearly superior to what Fortune Star gave DM.
I think you mean "Kam & Ronson" not Deltamac. You're right though, the IVL Fortune Star DVD is better than the recent K&R BD in many ways:

I'm pretty sure I'm right in saying the IVL and Fox DVDs are the same, it's just IVL only released them in a box set.

Why would it be an upscale? None of the others have been. They're basing on it being an upscale on "one image". All I'm saying is wait for something more concrete.

Sadly the Bruce Lee ones don't. Sadly that was a given.

Of course I did, otherwise I wouldn't be able to comment period. I know it looks awful but check out the FOF BD captures over at DVD Beaver but then read what Salty has to say about the actual disc. It's also only one capture. Like I already said, wait for something more than "one" capture before completely dismissing it.

Even if you saw the whole disc you still wouldn't have a fucking clue what you were looking at, you never do!

And yes that one cap IS enough to show the Blu-ray is going to be an absolute stinker, there's absolutely no way they would have just selected a single frame to look that bad with that much EE, and then Spannick/whoever would have had the bad luck to chose that exact same frame to take a screengrab of.

I'm not even going to bother to comment on this one.

You could say the very say (pretty much) about the FOF BD but Salty says it's better than the DVD, go figure.

That Police Story grab is on a completely different scale of badness to the Fist of Fury transfer and you know it - not even you're THAT blind and clueless when it comes to transfers!

Do you have to insult me every fucking day?

I never said it was good, I just said it was only one capture.

Brad I only insult you when you make insane, head-slappingly stupid and very contrary comments, which yes you insist on doing every fucking day!

Just go back and read your original post about why should we assume the BD is an upscale based on one grab, it's unbelievably stupid Brad when you simply look at the state of that one screengrab, which so blatantly looks like a very soft EE-nuked DVD transfer. The quality is so depressingly horrendous that there is no middle ground here, no room for interpretation, it simply IS awful and in no way "High Definition".

You think the rest of the film suddenly switches to SD? You think the person taking the grab who made the comments on it being an upscale wouldn't mention "oh by the way, the rest of the film doesn't look like this, it's actually pretty good!"? You need your feckin' head checked out man, seriously!

It's actually more possible that the person taking the grab took it from a DVD by mistake rather than from a BD that switches between HD and SD like that!

The grab looks scarily bad but i'm hoping against hope it's somehow unrepresentative of the actual release :? Shingster you are a profesional reviewer are you up for borrowing my copy and doing a review maybe posting it on dvdtimes?

It's been years since I've seen the R1 but it looks a lot better to my eyes too. Like you say, compare to what's out there, not how good/bad it is overall.

Still as it's English only I wouldn't touch it with a barge pole. (For the fans) it stinks the best DVD is still the cropped to fuck Mainland Chinese DVD. From past experience, despite the cropping, still easily more watchable.

Fantastic. I hope they release a box set. I fear it will be near 60 notes though.
