This is a lovely story.. don't know if its' true though. Considering how some kids adore repetition I would say its' possible.

I remember reading about when Mel Blanc (voice of Bugs Bunny) was very badly injured in a car crash, he was unconscious and nobody could reach him. But when someone said "How are you feeling today.. Bugs Bunny?" he answered (as Bugs) "Ehhh.. fine Doc".
What about the story about someone who had been in a coma for 20 years (I think?) and when they woke up the first thing they said was "I want a Pepsi"
Its' one of those sorts of stories.
