I watched a bit of this last night


Getting people to vote which song the contestants will sing is a neat idea, even if its basically rigged (ie there's only a choice of two). I suppose some weren't *too* bad in a karaoke sort of way, Michael Grecco (sp?) (used to be in Eastenders) reminded me of The X Factor's Chico (no really), except I can't see Chico singing Barry White.

The guy who sang Mandy was awful even worse than Westlife.

I never saw this... I believe some of the girls are quite fit.

Might have to tune in tonight. 8)

The song he did the night before this one (Andy) was Maggie May, which sounded pretty good IMO. I also quite liked Lee's "Ain't No Sunshine", an unexpected choice for him.
Unfortunately I also felt I was watching (Insert name) Mania at times, the least said about Wendi's song the better

On Sunday's show they did make a comment like "You're almost bursting out of your dress!
2/3 of the people have OK voices IMO, but watching it made me realise just how good most of the X Factor gang were! Most of the soap actors are rubbish.

What soap is this Roxanne girl in? She's gorgeous! And she looks like someone I know (who is also gorgeous).

By the way, Markgway where did you find that extremely sexy picture? I'm thinking there must be more out there but a Google search didn't find much...

I found it via a google search. The photo is from a recent Maxim shoot so trying entering that along with her name and see what comes up (apart from your willy that is!)

Mark did you see last nights? IMO, Roxanne is quite a good singer, as is Andy and perhaps Lee - but as I say, with most of them makes you realise how good the X Factor lot were!
Fern Britton is an awful presenter.

I stopped watching it after the first time I saw it (Saturday). The programme is too bad. The presenters and the judges suck ass. Cilla is a talentless old crone. Bring back Simon Cowell! The singing is hardly worth suffering for IMO.

Having the person who's been evicted as one of the judges is an interesting idea. I agree about the presenters, Fern Britton is crap!

I didn't realise my Mum taped this, so I watched "edited highlights" (ie. just the performances) and cut all the waffle and padding. Roxy was tops and the only other good performance was from Richard, the youngest guy. His voice is beyond his years. Most of the others were lame.

I agree Richard (is he the 16 year old?) was good.

Watched some of it tonight - I liked Richard and also quite like Andy, he has a good (if growly) voice - sounds a bit like Ronan Keating. He did a fine job of Let It Be tonight, better than Journey South anyway

Andy sounds like a foghorn.

Shame Roxy was voted out. Must be gays who vote.

I think the final should be Richard - who's admittedly shown some real limitations with tonight's performances - and Lucy - who's not got a particularly strong voice but is adequate.

The losers are Fat Fern, Boring Ben, and the crappy Judges.

Best bit: that Lee guy with the blonde mullet - I didn't know these were back in fashion? - saying he was a good vocalist. Aye, right. Keep taking the medication.

I noticed that yeah - I think Richard will win. Andy was *okay* IMO though I agree his is not the best voice But I still preferred his Beatles song to Journey South
I hate the presenters - makes you realise how good Kate Thornton was.

Exec 2: And look how popular the soaps are. So why not combine the two and create a watered down format and get soap actors no one has ever heard of to sing, and viewers can vote to them in!
Exec 1: Right. And then we have 3 judges - Cilla is Sharon Osbourne who just likes everyone, that American guy Billy is Simon Cowell, and Chris is Louis Walsh.

Let it Be is one of the most boring Beatles' songs.

What's the best then, IYO?, IMO, Let It Be is a classic, not their best maybe but very good, nice and simple.

If find Let it Be dull and boring like too many of McCartney's dirges. Other ones being Yesterday and Long and Winding Road. I skip those on the albums. I like a lot of the stuff from A Hard Day's Night and Lennon - when he wasn't being too silly (I am the Walrus). Too many to pick one best, but stuff like Help, Nowhere Man, Revolution, Strawberry Fields Forever, I'm a Loser, etc... are all great.

I like Help and Strawberry Fields Hey Jude is great also.

Richard won on Saturday BTW - I only saw him sing the last song "Moondance" (?) - I don't like the song. It can't be hard to imitate Michael Bublé (which he sounded like he was doing) but who sang it originally?

I thought the show after Ice Dancing was more fun.

Hey Jude is fair for about 2.5 mins and then goes on and on like a pub chorus.

Yeah maybe it does go on too long But thats' a nice contrast though, it starts of sad then becomes a happy clappy song - I like it for all that, one of their greats

Didnt realise Van Morrisson did Moondance - thought Andy was well suited to Van's Brown Eyed Girl.

The song Richard did sounded like a Sinatra or Dean Martin song to me, not Van Morrisson at all.. wierd
BTW, I don't like The Beatles "Yellow Submarine", its' utter fluff. But even here, Paul said its' really a children's song - should we judge it on the same criteria as their grown up songs?
TLAWR isn't my favourite Beatles track but its not bad - have you heard the one on the "Let It Be Naked" album - this is the stripped down version which is supposed to be how the Beatles wanted it in the first place which IMO is better. The version you're used to hearing has too much Spector pomp.
