" The French government is moving ahead with plans for a controversial law that would legalize file-sharing of music and films.

The project has worried the music, film and television industries because it would make France the first country to allow unlimited peer-to-peer downloading for a flat fee of several euros a month. "

I've been following the project for a while. Sounds good, doesn't it ? :D

I wouldn't own like most of my 200 + albums if it weren't for file sharing, so the record industry should be grateful for it.

Well I think I should be alowed to do it, as I buy so many real ones. If I dont like the music I dont want it, if I like it I end up buying the cd. If anything thats helping them out as no way I would throw cash away experimanting on music I may never ussually buy.

It's about time they created a law to control it instead of the futile exercise of trying to stop it.

Another example: Imagine the amount of police resources being saved if they created a law to control instead of stop prostitution.

No prostiutution should never be legal in any form, just kill the people who pay for it and kill the slags who pedel it, problem solved. Same goes for drugs, kill the people who use and buy it, kill the peddlers. The normal people of society wont loose out thats for sure.

I guess I could say the same about people who "Steal" music and other things on the net, but I dont give a shit as the figures speak for themselves and music bussiness and dvd sales are still sky high, its not as if they are loosing out at all, they just talk bollocks.

As for the argument these industries finance gun running well that's only because they're freakin' illegal Image

Besides you can't link the two. Gun running and say prostitution aren't linked.

I respect your opinion even if on prostitution I completely disagree with it (and partially on drugs which is a much more complicated problem) neither are going anywhere as is bootlegging.

That was my point. The police/government are fighting a completely futile battle.

So you're a thief then? As you said yourself you download music.

At the end of the day as far as movie and music bootlegging goes I completely agree both industries make billions and billions each year.

Besides to charge £13.99 (CD) and £19.99 (DVD) a disc which is the RRP of CDs and DVDs in the UK SHOULD be a criminal offence. Those by being the RRP are the prices we should be paying. What do they expect tbh by completely ripping us off.

Wow, talk about facist! I think a woman (or man for that matter) has the right to sell their body in safety as many times as they like. The law shouldn't have the right to stop anyone from conducting personal business that doesn't cause harm. Unless you're a puritan who thinks extra-marital sex will send you straight to hell?

Considering Romero's stance on 9 Songs are you surprised? (it being filth NOT it being porn).

p.s - In Romero's world I'd be dead. Lucky I don't live in Romero's world :D

Nope it just breeds nasty side effects to society, would you like a brotherl next door to your home? your kids to see hookers sucking dick behind you house? etc.. its nasty and should always stay illegal, the fact porno gets away with it is a joke! as they are hookers, they get paid for sex, exactly the same thing really.

They can do what they want really, I dont care, just keep it far away from me as its nasty for normal people to see and it brings in the sicko element of society and drugs also. Drugs are and always will be the scurge of society, I feel no shame in saying kill them all as only fools use them anyway and I hope you die.

and yes I am a theif for downloading anything from PSP on the net, but really I dont care much as everyones doing it and it isnt killing people like drugs and prostitution, thats the big diffference :) and I pay so much to dvd, music companies by buying so many items from them legally they would be really ignorant for saying a word to me.

Would be handy....

Seriously, no, of course not. I'm not saying they should be in residential areas as such, but perhaps regulated in red light districts, like adult video stores. Kids can't get in... so what's the problem?
your kids to see hookers sucking dick behind you house?
These days it IS the kids who are sucking dick!
the fact porno gets away with it is a joke! as they are hookers, they get paid for sex, exactly the same thing really.
Yeah, porn stars are prostitutes. But like I said, it's they're right.
I feel no shame in saying kill them all as only fools use them anyway and I hope you die.
Now that's what I call nasty. Hasn't Brad used a hooker? You want him to die???
and yes I am a theif for downloading anything from PSP on the net, but really I dont care much as everyones doing it
You could say the same about drugs and prostitution. If it's good enough for them...
and it isnt killing people like drugs and prostitution
Prostitution kills people? What does a guy get fucked to death? Smothered by huge tits? Sucked up into a vaginal vortex?

How are porn films hurting anyone? I see your point regarding a brothel but a DVD would be nicely put away at home and tbh that's assuming having sex is wrong which clearly you think it is.

People in porn films and even brothel owners aren't doing anything illegal (as in the acts). They doing nothing a couple in a relationship wouldn't do.

Why on earth btw would kids see people sucking dick? They don't do it outside and yes I wouldn't mind a brothel near me IF it was legal because if it was it would be controlled and the scum you mentioned would soon be cleaned up. They only exist because the prostitutes can't go to the police.

You should seriously go to Amsterdam and see how well it is controlled. You don't like sex you don't go there end of story. It's an area of Amsterdam you have to go to you couldn't just stumble across it. The area is clean with no scum you mention it doesn't look greatly different from a bar strip.
Markgway wrote:Now that's what I call nasty. Hasn't Brad used a hooker? You want him to die???
Exactly and yes he has. I see zero problem with it.

It was twice while in Thailand which oddly to most people it's not even considered prostitution. Because it's a far away land and all Thai's a prostitutes anyway it's acceptable.

This is the impression I've got from most people I've told. I doubt I'd want to in the UK has most prostitutes it seems here are mingers but I wouldn't rule it out.

Forget prostitution the biggest problem I have in terms of society's ills is drunkness and yobbish behaviour on a Friday/Saturday night that really stinks!

Many people should be ashamed of how they treat themselves and others when they've clearly had far to much to drink.

LOL, as they couldn't fight away prostitution in Germany, it has now become legal and prostitutes over here even have to pay taxes.

As for prostitution and porn... it's not the same. In prostitution, the women are fucking whoever knocks onto their door. In porn women are of course paid as well, but they also have the right to decide with whom to fuck + everybody in the modern porn industry has to have a regularly updated HIV test report. Prostitutes are using condoms, ok, but their job is way more dangerous as they never know the people who enter their rooms. They could be forced to 'do' without a condom or if not even worse.

No way when did prostitution become legal in Germany? So how does it work? I thought it was only Holland who was so liberal.

It's NEVER EVER going to happen in the UK most people are to conservative for that.

I do agree LD prostitution is different even if it's not greatly different. They're not one in the same. I especially agree prostitution is considerably more dangerous in every way to porn.

Don't forget men are in porn just as much as women!

Back on topic it's my fault for hijacking the thread . . . .

As for P2P I think it's a good thing but how on earth are the going to control it? P2P isn't one engine or protocol a new one springs up each week.

They legalised Napster, we now have BitTorrent.

and look at the facts about amsterdam. the figures I have seen are truley appauling, pretty much the rape capital of the world! deaths from drugs are gigantic, you need to do a bit of a search about Amsterdam before you say things like that. The place is a pool of filth and scum, pain and death. Legal it may be, but its far from right.

I agree on alcohol thats for sure, another bane of society same goes for cigarettes, 2 massive killers world wide, but sadly legal :(

and its not the actual brothel or porno thats hurts, its the side effects of such things. If no one was hurt in them industries then go ahead I dont mind, its the hundreds of thousands of people hurt, killed, forced agaisnt their will or thru desperation to do things they dont want to do, for cash as they have no other option. The scum run most industries like that, if you cannot see many bad things about porno and prosttution then you are clearly blind. There is no way on earth these industries will ever be clean, its imposible. Normal porno we may watch is far from the evil porno that infects the world under the radar, they cannot and will not ever be seperated sadly.

Wasnt saying Kill Bradavon! its mainly the drugs part I detest, if no one paid for sex and no one offered it, then there would be no reason for it, sadly again no way in hell its ever going to stop and drugs are weaved deep into many hookers lives sadly.

Do you drink Romero? Out of interest.

p.s - You're probably right about Amsterdam but that's the same for pretty much every country. Besides at least I've actually seen Amsterdam instead of reading it on the Internet.

Not much, but I do stupidly sometimes, I havent this year for instance :) I just see to many people in trouble thru drinking, and I do feel like a pratt a lot of the time for not joining in, but that should not be my problem, but I am not made to feel that way sadly :( same goes for smoking, I know quite a few people dying or dead from it, if that doesnt strike you as something that should just be made illegal then thats odd to me, there choice or not its still a killer.

Still way off topic sorry everyone :(

I keep doing this regulary, but in a small way its all interlinked I guess, as its legality and punishment related and the damage it does to us or society (or the big bussineses who rule us all).
Still filesharing will not go away like many drugs for instance, and there is no real way to stop it as of yet, so in reality I am a criminal like many of the people I detest, I guess it makes me a scumbag and really I should be locked up.

I wouldn't go that far Romero.

Agreed on drinking and smoking (although I wouldn't go as far as making smoking illegal, back to choices).

Personally when I go out my mates get wankered I don't I drink my beer and am still fine by the end of the night. I do drink slowly which helps.

Sure on occasion I get wankered which I think is a good thing funnily enough.

Dick-sucking, prostitution, drinking, drugs, porno...
What have you turned this thread into ? :D

 I do like to make thread different.

Still I cannot see the UK or Americam king Filesharing legal anytime soon, in fact they are still testing how far they can go in taking people to court and trying to bleed them dry of cash. Still some of us on here probibly get a few things off these file sharing places, the ones that seem to get took to court are the big time uploaders who leave their PCs on all day every day and upload ilegal stuff. I wont get wrong for that as I wouldnt ever upload anything.

Apparently they want every single Internet user in France to regularly pay a small fee that will then be sent to the music and film industries.

hmmm... but would MY fee go to the artists I download from, or does it just end up with some fatcat-business guy that are gonna use the money to promote crap like Britney!?
I wouldnt mind paying a small fee if I would download stuff from the artists I love, but TBH I pretty much only download anime, and occasionally some music...
And most stuff that I like, I would also buy if it would be released in a proper way and for a proper price. 10 pounds/15 euro for a CD however, is utter bullocks. How can a 12 number CD be more expensive then a DVD of a movie that has cost over 50/100 million to make, and where THOUSANDS of employees worked on!?

romerojpg wrote:Nope it just breeds nasty side effects to society, would you like a brotherl next door to your home? your kids to see hookers sucking dick behind you house? etc.. its nasty and should always stay illegal.
It's nasty because it has to be done in "secrecy" and "away from the law". What if the government housed the prostitutes in proper housing? :D

Personally I don't care to make up a proper opinion on this though... as for big businesses?! Those I do hate... :D It's my opinion that "their greed" will eventually destroy our way of living...

As for the P2P fight... I don't think we're alone in saying that the industry has earned money off our P2P traffic. I have bought many CD's and film's after ... erm... sampling them online. For me, this is a cost issue, as I don't want to spend lots of money on films and cds that I may never again play - or not even like the first time around.

I think what France is trying to do is great... now if we could only get the industry to wake up and smell real life...

Why France anyway? is there a reason they are doing this?
