Cars - new trailer

The film looks fun (the cars look great), but as Eva wittily said it also looks rather like "Thomas the Racing Car"

So in that sense rather unremarkable, I guess the problem is we've been so used to superb Pixar films over the years (Toy Story 1 and 2, Monster's Inc, Incredibles...)
What do you guys think?

Looks very good.
The first couple of trailers for this flick looked really REALLY bad, so I had already given up hope a bit, but this makes me a bit more optimistic.
Back then, it were just talking cars, but now you can see they have improved on it, so they look like characters.
Still too early to tell ofcourse, but it's looking good.

That was very VERY hard to do, after those first couple of trailers...
Another CGI movie I'm kinda looking forward to, Is Kung Fu Panda, with Jack Black and Jackie Chan...
The artwork for it looks pretty promising...

Kung Fu Panda?! LOL!

I'm sure I remember hearing about that years ago.

Thought this was great fun. Not Pixar's best but decent enough.
The UK version of Cars is slightly different from the US version!!!!
The UK version features Jeremy Clarkson as the voice of Harv instead of Jeremy Piven.

Hmmm... Hope we in Holland can still hear the original American voices, instead of some new english ones.
Didnt they do the same thing with Robots? Replacing english voice-actors with british ones...!?

Yeah, they did.

Surprisingly, my kids enjoyed Dreamworks'
Over The Hedge more than
Cars!

That's got to be a first for my kids, who have adored everything that's come out of the Pixar studios.

It must've been the Bruce Willis factor

Hehe, actually, it was Hammy, the Squirrel, played by Steve Carell.

Well, I haven't seen the film, (although I probably will) and if Steve Carell's as funny in this as he is in other things I've seen him in, then it seems as though your kids have a good sense of 'funny'

Didn't they do that with Shrek 2 as well - with Jonathan Ross as one of the ugly sisters instead of Larry King?

Do the DVD releases then dont have the original USA voices? Or can you choose between the 2 versions (british or yankee?)

The R2 UK release has Jonathan Ross instead of Larry King and Kate Thornton (!) instead of Joan Rivers. You can't choosea version to see.
I'd imagine the R1 has the original voices.

It's a form of racism when you think about it.
I'll try and get a hold of the original and unedited R1 or something.
