What is this ? It's a picture comparison between the remastered korean edition and the HKL platinum edition of Wheels On Meals.

Why this comparison ? Because I think that the korean distributor didn't restore the film at all when they released it, and I want to see whether HKL have been tampering with it (both use the FS print).

Let's go:

Korean on top.
HKL at bottom.

OK. The HKL looks better, but they've used an insane amount of edge enhancement and contrast boosting (loss of detail in the white curtains).

OK. Listen carfeully because I won't say it again.
HKL have done a good job. :D

I still say the skintones are too pink, but yeah, otherwise the HKL is an improvement.

I agree with Mark. The HKL has oodles of extras too, lovely!

The shot of the woman looking at the building (?) looks MUCH better in the HKL, much sunnier.

Pinkification and edge enhancement anyone?

The whole presentation is let down by the DVNR overload (horrible smeary image). I'm sure the Korean DVD is the same as they would have both came from the same HD source.
