I don't like that text by Variety. The film is surely different.

Nobody interested? The screenshots might make it look like a completely animated film (which it kinda is), but watch the trailer I say. You gotta see it moving in order to appreciate it. Very much like "Zelda: Windwaker" for GameCube.

Possibly but Sin City was so overrated. I too find it worrying how so many gents got a kick out of the extreme violence.

I'm very interested. Saw the trailer a while ago, or at least part of it, and was really REALLy impressed with it. I'll probably buy it for the art alone.

I dont mind violence but it's not a reason for me to go watch a movie.

I just like the stories. I have been a huge fan of the comics ever since they released them over here. Back then I had never heard of Frank Miller. I bought the first volume (Hard Goodbye) in a bookstore at the station where I was waiting for my train. I was impressed immediately. I looked for more Frank Miller stuff and found "Batman: Year One" etc. Really great dialogue writer. As for the stories, it is kinda obvious where he got a lot of his ideas from, but that's ok. It works really well.

As for "Rennaisance", I guess it will be the only movie I'm watching at this year's Fantasy Filmfestival.

It could go the way of Equilibrium (which I liked but it's not masterpiece).

What is good is the way it's shot. Take that away and you have very little left. All the comic fanboys loved it as it looks like a comic which is fine but that doesn't make it a good film.

This film looks pretty nifty though, but as ever, gotta wait till you see the whole thing before making a judgement.

Pffft. Carla Gugino was topless and wore only a thong.

Hidden in shadow far too much of the time which, despite baring more, doesn't get her the top spot.
Plus, she gets shot and you lose a lot of your appeal when you're bleeding to death.

Pathé will release the animated science fiction film noir Renaissance on DVD on November the 27th.
The film, which features the voices of Daniel Craig, Jonathan Pryce and Romola Garia, is set in futuristic France, where the citizens are under constant surveillance.
