Took ages to do this because I wanted to hear Alan Chui's laugh .

Scholar is the longer Taiwanese version. Typical non-anamorphic suspected PAL>NTSC transfer with burnt-in subtitles, Mandarin 2.0 and no extras.

Prism Leisure contains an anamorphic transfer likely ported from the French DVD as it has an orange tone, 2.0 Cantonese and non-removable flubtitles (taken from theatrical print). Title card isn't original (static English one to replace the original Chinese set which came up with 'Wong Fei Hung', then another set of characters that said 'Iron Rooster' and then 'Vs Centipede' - presumably. All on the same screen). Export international English trailer, image gallery and biographies/filmographies are included as extras which is decent enough for a low-priced low-market(ish) DVD.

Scholar = R3 Taiwan.
Prism Leisure = R2 (possibly R0) United Kingdom.
HKVideo = R2 France.

What is this movie exactly? A Wong Jing parody of OUATIC?

Strange subtitle font, Prism Leisure is clearly better.

I'm sure they're there own company and specialise in releasing budget (i.e - shit) versions of other companies DVDs. They've released Metrodome stuff before too.

part a Wong Jing film and part a Yuen Woo-Ping film. Should tell you a lot. Unfortunately Jet Li is stuck making both films but as I believe he produced the film, you never know if he actually pushed for the rooster outfit at the end.

the wire action is quite lovely and outrageous, basically the times Wong Jing was not on the set.

I loved this movie, KFC gave it a fair review .

Subsidiaries normally have autonomous management from their parent companies for the most part.

That would explain the 'Hard Boiled' Metrodome release.

Tom, can you please redo the French shot of Gordon Liu? It's a frame or two off (look at the fire in the background to help).

Aren't all 3 off on that one, look at the fingers.

TBH I don't think it has to be 100% exact (very few comparison sites can claim this is always the case). The whole point for me anyway is we can tell which is the best so we know what to buy, you don't need "exact" frames to do this.
