I understand there is a review over at DVD Times confirming most of the Blu-ray versions are cut, including the UK and USA release.

p.s - I can confirm they're a decent company. I've used them a few times.

My Casino Royale is uncut and has a English cover. It's _not_ imported from Australia though!

And no, not MOST Blu-Ray versions are cut. The US and UK are edited from the rest of the world.

The UK disc is the same as seen in the UK cinemas - Brits won't notice.
The US disc is the same as seen in the US cinemas - Yanks won't notice.

The rest of the world get's the unedited uncut version they saw in the cinemas. I hardly think that UK+US=most of the world?

(Maybe Germans get an edited version aswell, they are odd fellas sometimes...)

Any disc from Mainland Europe or Asia should do well. I do believe however that the US and UK discs are region coded... whereas the uncut "worldwide" disc is not region coded for simplicity.

(Oh and there's no such thing as Region 0 on BluRay AFAIK).

Koreans got the cut US BD, according to the DVDtimes review.

Who cares about anal retentive details like that? It's like people getting butthurt from someone refering to DVD10/DVD14/DVD18 as flippers, when the film doesn't span both sides.

the uk disc will play on any machine.the usa one is region A.

I suggest Gojensen you read the review I mentioned before jumping off on one next time -

Besides none of your waffle changes the fact this is the only Uncut BD with an English cover in the world, and at a good price too. Most stores are charging £18 to get it to the UK.

Get it from DVD Crave or EzyDVD for about £18 delivered. I'll probably pick up the BD now that's much cheaper at about £12.

Hi Brad, No I'm NOT mistaken. First thing I did when I heard about the cuts was to get the complete list and compare it against my Casion Royale BluRay discs (both of them!)... And neither is cut.

I have the disc at home. With English (full!) cover.

The real kicker? It was lot cheaper (or more expensive!) than the Aussie disc Why? Because it came with my PS3. So, that means there are atleast 500.000 uncut Casino Royales out there with English covers. (And I bet that covers the majority of the discs on the market... I presumed this would be the World-Wide disc)

But are the English cover so damn important? I'm thinking it possibly would be cheaper to buy the disc from Mainland Europe/Scandinavia than "all the way" from the Australia...

So, Germans got the full monty, I said they might get an edit as Germans are sometimes odd like that.

As for the regions... I do belive that Region 0 was specified in the DVD Format. As for BluRay it's named regions A B and C to differentiate itself from the DVD regions. I don't know if BluRay has an "all-region" option or if they have to mark the disc region ABC for it be "region free". However, people using numerals for BluRay regions will just keep confusing people Because everyone knows that Japan is Region 2 and thus it should play fine in a European BluRay player... right?!

Oh and Brad, as an English bloke you really should learn to not take sentences with maybe, should and believe as facts...

Oh you have the Scandinavian BD don't you. Why didn't you just say that, jeez That's the very same version (next to the Aussie) we've been talking about.

As for costs, actually no not often anyway. Scandinavian DVDs anyway are way more expensive than UK or USA discs and about the same as Aussie discs. I imagine it's the same for BDs.

Besides I'd prefer an English cover when I can get. I'll be picking up the UK disc on this one, the Aussie costs too much.

It's only confusing if you mix DVD and BD up in one sentence. I don't see how it's confusing you're just talking about one of the formats anyway. It's been R0 for years, there is no alternative to that in letters. Region Free is too long, it's needs to be short and snappy

p.s - I didn't know the Scandinavian BD had an all English cover. I probably should've remembered though my Star Trek DVDs are all in English, I think with even the BBFC logos.

Nope, did you hit yours? I've already said it's cut and why I'd still consider it, we're talking about 14 seconds of cuts. UK, USA and HK prices are the best in the world, the rest are usually too expensive, for me anyway.

I picked random sites across Europe (particularly Scandinavia) using the E-Tailors thread over at The Import Forum and the average price was £25 before postage, no thanks. It's £18 from Australia, still too much.

It's £13.89 from Sendit.com (they've put the price up a bit) and £15 from DVD Pacific. There are eBay UK sellers selling new UK copies for about £12. Presumably if I looked around I'd find the cheapest Scandinavia store but an average price of £25 doesn't bode well, average in the UK is £16.

I'll stick with UK.

EDIT: OMG I've just won the UK BD for £7.53 delivered from eBay , just a bit cheaper than elsewhere, of the two I'd much prefer the UK as it's only minutely cut in comparison and is R0. Considering the high price of HD Discs I'll definitely have to keep an eye on eBay more.

eBay is full of UK BD Casino Royale's for some reason, other titles (even popular ones) the bargains will probably be less easily come by.

That's 4 HD Discs now and no Player , still only 2 I cannot play period now. I must stop looking though as it's too tempting when I see a bargain. I definitely need to be careful picking up region locked BDs.

Oh yeah good point, probably. I paid £2.50 for Face/Off UK DVD, a bargain for me.

i haven't got a usa copy?both my freebies are uk versions,tbh i'd sooner trade it and pay a little towards another title. if i had my way i'd own neither,for me it's not a keeper but my son likes it. the uk disc plays in usa/uk ps3's.
