This will be one of three big-budget movies that Fox will film in Montreal over the fall and winter, along with a sequel to Ben Stiller's "A Night at the Museum" and a Roland Emerich remake of 1966's "Fantastic Voyage." Wow... I hope they will cast Matt Damon as Goku!
I cant wait to watch this movie the theatres, and be there for 9 hours untill they have finished 1 fight.
Sounds like a horrible horrible idea. They should have gone for all CGI, like the Final Fantasy 7 movie...
Hollywood dumb-asses. You can tell they have a really cocaine problem over there...

Which one, Spirit Within or Advent Children..Err I liked them both

The ending fighting of Advent Children was very impressive with the guardian appearing.

Advent Children. Complete trash, totally appropriate because the game is rubbish as well.

I dont know the game, and thought the movie was just OK, but that's besides the point. CGI will bring you much closer to what you want to accomplish in portraying such a story based on a game/cartoon/comic onto the screen, whereas with real actors you have that problem of casting etc...
The problem with Final Fantasy wasnt the gorgeous CGI, but it was the storytelling. So FF7 would have sucked even more if it had been a live-action movie.

Oh dear.. Got more info on this:
From Hollywood Reporter
Directorial and casting confirmations have finally come in on the new Dragonball movie, with James Marsters (Spike from Buffy the Vampire Slayer) playing Piccolo, the reformed green Namekian alien. Directing the film will be thriller vet James Wong, who wrote and directed Final Destination 1 and 3. Justin Chatwin will play Goku, the uber-hero and protector of earth. The film will supposedly follow Goku’s discovery that he’s actually a humanoid alien sent to Earth to destroy it. Since he’s so kind of heart (as all heroes are), Goku defends his home planet against an onslaught of alien baddies

LOL, Chow Yun-fat seems to have signed to play the part of Muten Roshi.
With all due respect to the original Dragon Ball (Z) manga series, but even for the money I wouldn't destroy my good reputation by starring in a "Dragon Ball Z" film instead of teaming up with John Woo again.

There's just no way this is going to be any good! DragonBall Z is just about the most unadaptable shounen series I can think of!
