Ofcom has announced that it is going to be overseeing the conversion of terrestrial broadcast systems from analogue to digital - and is promising that three HD channels will be available as soon as the gradual digital switchover begins in the Granada region in 2009.

Apparently a fourth HD channel will also become available once the switch over is complete in 2012.

Humax are planning to release a Satellite Digi-box that can pick up the FTA HD Channels this year. It's not known if this will include be a PVR too.

I'd be interested in a one off cost to be able to pick up HD Broadcast TV.

I guess it doesn't interest you but I've been keeping an eye on it for ages. The South West is 2010.

Which will be 13 years after I got Digital TV and stopped using Analogue :D. The switch over has already become though. Is Granada The Borders? As I thought they were first. I'm sure they originally were.

Granada is basically the north west of england, merseyside, lancashire etc. i always thought Border was Newcastle,north-east but could well be wrong.
