Bullets 'n' Babes

Ubiquity is an experimental Firefox extension that has lots of potential to change the way people use the Web. I won't bore you with any more but have a read of the first link and make sure you watch the video.

That really sold the concept for me.

You'll need to copy/paste the download link, clicking it won't work.

p.s - The XPI says the minimum version has to be Firefox 3.0 so presumably it doesn't work with older versions, it may not have been tested though.

Links worked fine when I just clicked it. Must be because I use a crappy browser like Avant instead of some brilliant Firefox browser(!)



Anyway, it looks pretty cool and handy. If I had friends and I enjoyed emailing them about stuff, this would really come in handy. The map-stuff is great. Just do a 'map these' and immediately a map pops up with the locations

It's a Firefox extension. Reports seem to suggest Internet Explorer 8 will have something similar, which means Avant will too (probably). Given that it's not really a browser but an IE front end.

It has other potential too. I've added a Yellow Pages one for instance. I presume you guys have Yellow Pages?

Annoyingly the e-mail one only works with Google Mail and only Google Mail via it's Webmail interface, which discounts anyone that uses Outlook, Thunderbird etc... It's a pity as that one shows the most potential but it's useless to me .

Did i miss something here?!!! I thought you said they wouldn't work!!

Yes (oh that). Avant may handle it differently but Firefox and IE get confused with brackets in links and don't display them properly when pasted in forum threads.

In fact I'm sure it's a Bullets engine problem so I doubt it will work in Avant either. Did you just click on the second link Yi? You'll see if you open this thread in IE only part of it is highlighted as a link. As soon as a bracket is found in a link the link stops, so clicking on it, you in fact get:
