3D Realms, developer of Duke Nukem 3D and the long delayed Duke Nukem Forever has shut down.
13 years of game development on DNF and nothing to show for it, unsurprising really.

How on earth did it take 13 years to get nowhere?

No one knows. The leading theory is that whenever a competitor brought out a new generation graphics engine, they would scrap all of their work and start from scratch.

Leaked gameplay footage - looks pretty good.
Leaked hi-res screenshots + the entire plot outline
Yeah, I read about that a couple days ago. They still had to fire the entire development team.
I feel for all of the people who lost their jobs, but fuck George Broussard and the rest of the management, bunch of inept idiots with the worst time and money management ever.
I can't believe that they pissed $20 million USD down the drain over the last 13 years.
Seriously I hope somebody else man-handles the work done thus far and the rights from 3D Realms and finishes the game once and for all. It could probably be completed in about 6 months minimum by an efficient, high quality studio with good management.
