It seems Barcelona is very popular. I'm looking forward to contrasting Prague with Budapest. I'm expecting the latter to have even more of the communist feel.

Erm Brad is back. Spent an absolute fortune, because of the useless pound found Barcelona very expensive, thought it was an awesome city though, didn't want to come home and also found Prague/Budapest great too.

Slightly different but it's reminded me of when my mates built another tent over a tent a mate was sleeping in at a festival and he was so confused when he opened his tent only to find another closed door

Thanks guys. I had a great time and didn't want to come home but then I never do. I'm planning to learn Spanish soon, when I can work out the logistics of working and being able to get there afterwards. I'd like to move to Spain circa 2-3 years and also do Central/South America properly, which I've deliberately skipped.

Ditto but for Japanese, the beginner's course is fine because it's 7-9pm, but then when you move onto the advanced course, it's 5-7pm, errrr what the hell do people with jobs do about that?! I'd have thought the whole point of evening classes was for people with jobs!

Exactly! The Spanish courses start at 6:15, which is absurd even for people working in the same city. I'm going to look at courses in the town I work in.

Like you say 7-9pm makes much more sense but I don't get home until 6:15 so a course at err. 6:15 is ridiculous. How long have you been doing it?

I haven't, contemplating doing it but that time thing is a problem. I don't want to waste my time and money doing the beginner's course if I can't get to the advanced one on time.

I did a Japanese Beginners and Further Steps course too some years ago. Sadly not enough people were interested in the advanced course.

I'm not going to be able to manage 5 weeks out of the country again any time soon, so am making the most of it. I carried 5 days over last year.

It finished at 4:30 a.m. and the police were just directing people out of the industrial estate and had some roads closed off, they didn't cause any trouble so it was all cool.

Hey guys. I'm off to Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia from the 22nd of July until the 1st of August. My first trip/holiday since the end of 2009 and I bloody need it. The rough itinerary goes as follows:

22nd until 26th: Latvia (part Riga, part elsewhere) - 3 days, the 22nd is travelling
26th until 29th: Lithuania (part Vilnius, part elsewhere)
29th until 1st of August: Estonia (due to less time probably all Tallinn) - 2.5 days, the 1st is travelling

I've been to Latvia once and Estonia many times. Riga was damn expensive back in summer of 2010, dunno how the situation is now with the economy being the way it is. Estonia has always been fun and the alcohol and the women are cheap. Though I recommend staying away from the later (at least the ones you have to pay for) if you don't want catch some horrible disease. Have some amazing stories from my last stay in Estonia when I was there playing in my orchester.

Hope you will have an epic time in those countries.
