I don't care about menus and that nonsense so I personally use AnyDVD HD + MPC-HC. But if you do want the full experience then try both PwoerDVD and Arcsoft so see which you prefer; I've not used either since their older versions.

AnyDVD is essential regardless, to get rid of all the protection crap. I use MPC HC for playing too but I so rarely play DVDs, there's no point installing something else.
If I were to actually watch movies on my PC I'd probably install PowerDVD. It has a better DVD interface.

I have powerDVD and it is a fucking nightmare, regularly crashing the whole PC when I try and navigate a disc. You can't take screengrabs with it as well.

Yeah they're not native resolution, Media Player likes to default to a set resolution, not really familar enough with taking grabs using the program to tell you how to change it though, but I'm sure Hung can help you out when he eventually reads this. You've got my guide for using Vdub for grabs now anyway so hopefully you'll have better luck there.

Re: Blu-Ray player software for PC?
Media Player Classic Home Cinema + AnydvdHD worked fine for me until I managed to screw up the settings and never fix them again. Just use the standard screencap function and the caps should turn out fine. I compared to Vdub once... let me find those grabs... here.
