I haven't seen many, but I thoroughly enjoyed the ones I have. What should I watch?

Oh, and a bit of God of Cookery, and some weird film what I can't remember the name of where Stephen and some other guy are spitting at each other.

I really liked King of Comedy, with Cecilia Cheung. Chow plays an acting-teacher who's also trying to break through as an actor himself. Good movie with a heart.

It's a shame Chow has done so little these last 10 years.

You got that right! such a shame he became a massive star, then practically retired from our screens! trying to break into Hollywood seems to have exhausted him and he still seems to be trying, cannot see it ever happening now.

My tastes may not gel with others (I couldn't stand King of Comedy for example) but would recommend you check out Forbidden City Cop, God of Gamblers 3, and The Magnificent Scoundrels.

I liked the Roswell bit in Forbidden City Cop.

I found GOD OF GAMBLERS II to be dreadful.

Fight Back to School is cool as well. Loved the condom-scene.

The Flirting Scholar is another good one.

Definitely 'King of Comedy'.

Tried to re-watch King of Comedy but couldn't get past the 25 minute mark. Can't stand Karen Mok. And can't stand Cecilia Cheung. Trying to get rid of the dvd now.

Fight Back to School is better, but didn't find it good enough to keep it.

Not just me then... although I happen to like both those actresses.

Another one that disappointed me. I tend to like the ones that most people ignore, like The Lucky Guy.

No, he's not. I actually prefer GOG 3 to the Chow Yun-Fat original.

The reason I asked if Keung had seen God of Gamblers is because the spoof: All For the Winner is a much funnier film if you have. For my money the two Chinese Odyssey films together as one "entity" (seeing as it's just one film split into two parts) is the best thing Chow has been in, I've provided a link below to my review.

I generally agree with Mark with regards to Lau's career, but I think those four films he made with Chow are some of the funniest HK comedies of the 90s. Treasure Hunt and Chinese Odyssey 2002 weren't bad as well.

Does anyone know why he hasnt made a movie since 2008? he was really hot at the officebox then and suddenly he stopped directing/acting...?
