There are some rumours going around he was diagnosed with inoperable cancer, which caused him to do this.

A real shame. R.I.P. Good director.

I could be totally wrong but that story sounds like a possible smokescreen to stop people speculating on why he did it.

Good director - Enemy of the State was a class movie.

It popped up from different angles, which I guess is the reason why more and more people starting repeating it and taking it for truth, or at least as a possible cause...

I wonder if they'll release a statement about the contents of the letter he left, perhaps answering some of the questions.

If I found out I had inop brain cancer and was planning to commit suicide I doubt I'd tell my family in advance.
