18 seems rather strict, 16 would seem more suitable. You don't see any women's gossip magazines being banned, which can be far harmful. Lads mags show pictures, whereas gossip magazines are full of articles showing women how to lose weight, about cheating husbands etc...

18 is the same legal age to buy porn mags for christ sake.

I agree, 18 seems harsh.
I remember when I was under 18 trying to buy one (not a lads mag like FHM/Nuts/Zoo etc but porn), and the shop assistant said "Are you 18?" so I put it back I can understand that I guess, but it seems harsh for other mags.
