X Factor Season 2

I'll probably watch this

I know its a sham of course, and the person who wins will ironically get less exposure than the runners up (Where is Steve Brookstein, maybe he went back to his job as a roofer

) but last season was addictive
They'll just show the crap auditions tonight so we can laugh at them

NOOOOOOO when is the madness going to end?
It's one bloody reality TV show after the next and most are really trashy.
Branson's "Rebel Millionaire" is actually rather good though. Why they've stuck it on ITV2 is beyond me. I'd would've been much better if it had a more international list of people though. It would make it much more interesting than just one nationality.

I've never heard of it? What's it about?

Have you seen either the UK or US show "The Apprentice"?
It's ITV's answer to this BUT the events they're asked to do are much better. It's set all over the world from as far flung places as Japan and Morocco. The participants have to do similar things to what was asked in The Apprentice but it's more exciting.
I hope Branson does a UK version. I'm sure it could pull in the numbers for ITV1.

Yeah I've seen The Apprentice (mostly the UK one).
Sounds interesting

The X Factor is an update of every other talent show there's ever been from Opportunity Knocks to New Faces. The fun here is that they show so many crappy auditions to make you laugh before getting to the people who allegedly can sing for real. It's phoney but entertaining as long as you don't take it seriously.

True. Did you see the guy last week who said he can bring John Lennon's voice back
Moron.

Yeah, that was surreal. These people are losers. Sad, but true.

Yeah he was wierd. After 2s Cowell snaps at him "First of all - that isnt John Lennon. Get out!"

Just saw Saturday afternoon's repeat
Highlights included Justin, who came back as "Justine" after Louis said "I'd love to see you in drag" and Louis/Sharon let him through
A similar thing happened with a guy who was really overconfident (cant remember his name? He sounded Italian*?) - Louis/Sharon said yes but Cowell was really angry and squared up to the producers outisde
Last nights one featured an old woman in her 80's who got through (!) plus a 4 year old (awww..

) who they "pretended" to put through ("I can sing, even with my massive head")
*This was the first appearence of Chico.

Back on "The Apprentice" you MUST check out:
My Big Fat Obnoxious Boss:

I saw the first 2 episodes last weekend, very funny. It's basically the same as "The Apprentice" BUT it's a complete piss take. The boss and his two co-workers are actors and made all sorts of ridiculous shit up to watch the contestents perform them.
Last week they had them sell HOT soup in July in Chicago. It was very funny.

He didn't say "Get Out" 8)
Did you see the 3 hot air stewardess's? They had air stewardess tops and hats on, high heels and JUST a thong/tiny pants on down below

. They looked nice but the thing is the people who do that are trying to make up for lack of talent. Sadly I missed their audition.

No unfortunately I didnt see the stewardesses. When was that? 8)

Anyone see last nights episode?
Michelle Thorne (sp?) got through (!) She's an um,.. actress
She sang Whitney Houston IIRC.

Did anyone see it last Saturday?
Michelle Thorne was sent home, maybe partly as she forgot the words to her song (but others did as well), and Sharon was nice to her.
"Glamour model" indeed

Although in actual fact she was a professional singer before she was a *cough* actress, one show of hers (the one with the obvious Britney spoof) exploits this.
Chico (sp?) got through (!) He's a great laugh and I always root for him for some reason, a bit nutty in some ways.. this years Darius (Pop Idol 1/2) IMO

Louis just voted Addictive Ladies off to annoy Simon
Chico will surely be booted off tonight tho!
I missed his song tho, maybe thats a good thing?
However, Simon said he was.. okay, and entertaining!

I did like the Conway Sisters doing You Raise Me Up (to the tune of Danny Boy), far better than Worstlife's dreary cover

Chico is coming back next week
He can't sing but he has *something* about him.

I felt sorry for Sharon being caught in a sticky wicket at the end, she sorta had to stick up for Louis though

On the other hand I was shouting "GET ON WITH IT!" at the screen, she took so long!!

Anyone see last nights?
Chico was pants and should have gone, but his song (Ricky Martin's Livin' La Vida Loca) suited him much better then Philip's, who nonetheless had an OK stab (considering he doesnt seem like a rock n roll singer at all) at Chuck Berry (Elvis indeed!) classic Johnny B. Goode.

I was amazed Chico stayed on, even because of public pressure. Simon admitted his choice was based on "what the public wanted". Eh?

Anyone see Maria's performance of "You're Beautiful" last night? Hmm.
Sung very well BUT it was messed up by completely missing the point.
I know she won't sound like James Blunt obviously but You're Beautiful is supposed to be an angsty, pained song about unrequitted love - about wanting a connection with someone and never getting it.
Not an over-emotional "love" song in that sense.
Rant over.
Journey South singing The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face was superb. Nicholas seemed like a Craig David/Lemar wannabe

Chenai sang You Are Always On My Mind through her nose, and Chico incredibly wasnt half bad, and entertaining

X Factor Chico To Sing Tribute To Sick Pal
November 11, 2005, 1:22:43
X-Factor favourite Chico is planning to sing a tribute to his seriously ill friend on Saturday's show (12.11.05).
The former stripper usually performs light, dance numbers, but says he will sing Enrique Iglesias ballad ‘Hero' for pal Janice O'Halloran, who is battling stomach cancer.
O'Halloran - the singer's former boss - has been fighting the disease for several years.
A show insider is quoted in Britain's The Sun newspaper as saying; "Chico is really nervous. This song means lot to him - he is singing it for Janice to cheer her up. He wants to give this performance his all. He knows he has a lot to prove."
Chico, who is known for peeling off his clothes and substituting his own lyrics to songs, will even ditch his usual antics for the performance.
The source revealed: "There will be no saucy antics - just Chico trying to show that he has a good voice. It's bound to leave the viewers in tears."
For the love of Pete... who leaked this? Chico did not give this away on X factor: 24/7 and did not say who it was for or that she was ill, in fact it actually sounded like he was going to sing it for a girlfriend or something.
Silly thing to put this in the news, but I'm not sure if its a stunt or not - why can't he dedicate the song to his friend?
On the other hand whats wrong with him saying that AFTER the performance on Saturday?

Someone has let the Sun have this.
:x

Maria didnt deserve to go last night
I didnt know the song the Conway Sisters did. Louis's nationalism got up my nose.
Shayne was quite good, but not outstanding. It felt like an imitation to me.
"Tonight Matthew I'm going to be... Justin Timberlake!"

I watched the show.
It was a disgrace MARIA was voted off by that Irish-obsessed dumbo Louie Walsh.
THE CONWAY SISTERS were competant at best, but MARIA had real star quality (and was a babe to boot!)
Personally my bottom two would have been CHICO, who floundered miserably when not doing his usual grandstanding antics; let's face it: he can't sing! And also SHAYNE, who was abysmal; he got completely lost in a dire song from a dire popster (JUSTIN TIMBERLAND).
NICHOLAS improved this week, but should have been kicked off the week before instead of CHENAI. He's no personality and is a very mediocre singer.
If there was any justice MARIA would still be with us. I hope she gets a contract independant of the show.
