@ Grim: the first two are uncut, the 3rd used to be heavily cut but i think the version out now may be jusr slightly cut for horse trips.

I love this latest trailer, except for the Nu Metal thing, it just doesn't fit Rambo, and is the marketing dept looking to lure 12 years old (we all now that now one above 17 likes nu, unless they stay with a 12 year mentality)

Which makes no sense because the movie is R rated !

I knew you'd have an issue with locking the thread. Was it really worth complaining?

The old threads locked (Mordib cares), move on. I even copied across your new text so nothing is lost. I'd merge if I could. I'm sure this isn't the only forum where you've disagreed with a mod, tough! I know Tom and I are considerably more relaxed than most moderators. How many forums can you swear? Not many.

Stop complaining whenever this happens and just use the search function which yes works fine. You'd know this if you bothered to use it. If you cannot find it after searching then fine, it's takes seconds to have a quick look.

Just saw a preview screening of Rambo, it's fuckin ace rules ! It's a mix of what you liked in Rambo 1-3 with some influence of all the Rambo carbon copies made in europe in the 80's. The result is the second best film of the series, it features violence like you have never quite seen before in a war picture. Bullets makes head explodes. Corpses are cut in half. There's even a James Cameron like moment when a bomb goes off, it's astonishing. Everyone in the theater stepped out grinning from ear to ear. it's that good. Stallone did it again ! I smile at the idea of all these nay-sayers when the movie will open with great box office. Definetely not family fare !

Thanks, dvdvision! Although I have been more than sure that this film is gonna rock, I was a little nervous about the possibility of a cut down version for theatres, after the theatrical trailer was missing all the violent parts that are in the internet trailer.

Good to hear that they kept the scenes in.

I'm still very interested.... but;

What Stallone serves up in the finale of "Rambo" is a literal goulash of gore (most shots, if not all, are amplified with rickety CGI), and I was quite taken with the fearlessness of it all.

I saw this on opening day, and loved it. It seems like one of those films where the critics and the moviegoing public are heavily divided on a critical scale. The "average joes" such as myself have enjoyed this film, as it's definately the best of the sequels, and at least on par with First Blood. However, a majority of the negative reviews have complained mainly about the violence level. After all, this technically is an NC-17 film disguised as an R, due mainly to the appeal Stallone requested. However, they also complained about a lack of plot. This is the fourth Rambo film... if you're expecting an epic story over epic battles, you obviously know nothing about the Rambo films. Still, it feels FAR less like a cartoon in comparison to the previous two films. This film feels almost too real at times, but it works.

However, what pisses me off most is that Meet The Spartans has beaten this film for the top spot at the US box office this weekend... by only $600,000. Even if Rambo didn't come out this weekend, I'm still severely pissed that people actually went to see MTS at all! What little faith I've had in the general public of America just went out the window... I'm moving to Japan!

Mind you, ROCKY BALBOA failed to hit the top spot in the US, but did so in other countries, including the UK.

Maybe RAMBO will do same.

I see CLOVERFIELD has dropped like a hot potato in its second week.

As an American myself, I've been asking myself that for a LONG time. The only hope now is that the estimates will pull Rambo into first place. Apparently, Rambo was #1 for sunday, pulling in $4.7 million in comparison to MTS's $4.2 million. Also, it's another "PG-13 VS R" situation... but I'm damn glad that Stallone decided to stick with the R.

True... here in the US, it lost to friggin' Night at the Museum that weekend. Ugh... But, Balboa still made a good profit. As for Rambo, everyone is predicting that it will "have legs" more than MTS. That being said, Rambo may still be in the top 5 next week, while MTS will probably dangle at the bottom of the top 10.

Btw, Rambo has currently snuck on to the IMDb's Top 250. It'll probably only last today, but it was pretty surreal seeing that.

With dvd sales etc Rambo will make plenty. it wouldn't shock me to see a 5th one being made.
