Beverly Hills Cop films are pants compared to LW films. The action in all the BHC films is crap 80's stand and shoot. All the BHC films are way behind all the LW films.

It's a hard one between Beverly Hills Cop and Beverly Hills Cop 2 but Part 2 just pips it.

I bet no one votes for Beverly Hills Cop 3 :D

Lethal Weapon 1 extended. But 2 is nice too.

Stallone's rejected Beverley Hills Cop script became Cobra, which was remade as Fair Game a decade later. Those were the days !

Ditching Stallone then replacing him with Murphy was such an excellent idea. As good as Stallone is he's no Eddie Murphy.

Yeah, but if Stallone had been in BHC the action would've been better.

Probably but what we got is so much better. Eddie in the 80s was comedy gold, he's still got it when he's rarely given a decent script.

BHC2 had pretty good action, thanks to Tony Scott.

Eddie Murphy is a talented guy, who sadly also has a talent for choosing the wrong movies to star in.

Sadly he does but Dreamgirls showed with the right material he so definitely still has it. That film rocks.

@ Eva: Agreed.

You don't know that.

The only reason Stallone passed is because Paramount pulled the plug on his budget; he'd written several BIG action scenes. We could've been talking about one of the 80s action greats.

Murphy hasn't done a decent movie since METRO. I wish he'd do another serious action movie like that and stay away from the lame-ass comedies.

Considering how much more talented Murphy is to Stallone. I can safely say IMO what I said.

Both BHC1 and 2 are comedy gold and so much better than anything Stallone has ever done. Even taking Rambo 1 and Rambo 2 which are decent, they're just two films. Eddie in the 80s/early nighties was in so many great films.

Have you seen Dreamgirls? If not you don't know what you're talking about, but agreed otherwise he hasn't.

I wish he'd do another decent action comedy. That's what he's best at or even just a decent comedy without any rubber suits!

Stallone has made more good movies than Murphy.

Bollocks. Yes, BHC is good, and Pt2 is OK, but better than Rocky, Nighthawks, First Blood, Cliffhanger, Copland...? Nope.
Have you seen Dreamgirls? If not you don't know what you're talking about, but agreed otherwise he hasn't.
No, I haven't. But clearly I meant Murphy vehicles. In Dreamgirls he was a co-star.

The worst part of Metro was the lame comedy schtick. He hasn't been in a funny movie since The Distinguished Gentleman 16 years ago!

To use your point Stallone was a co-star in Copland ;) , but yes he is good in that.

I cannot say I've ever heard of Nighthawks before. The Rocky films don't do it for me, they never have.

He is very good in it (as is everyone else) and it shows how he's "still" got it. Besides his part is big enough to warrant inclusion.

He's funny in Shrek/Shrek 2 but those don't really count.

Most people seem to think he's funny in "Bowfinger" for it to count, but even then that was 9 years ago.
