Bowfinger was never funny. Just Steve Martin being his usual jackass self.

...and BHC1 better than First Blood? Bollocks.

And what kind of dope are they selling you in that area you live in?
Most people seem to think he's funny in "Bowfinger" for it to count, but even then that was 9 years ago.
Bowfinger was funny as hell. Laughed my ass off, because I know what it is like to make your first film.

No he wasn't. :?
I cannot say I've ever heard of Nighthawks before.
:o
The Rocky films don't do it for me, they never have.
I pity the fool who doesn't love Rocky III. 8)

Actually Murphy WAS funny in Bowfinger - but only when playing the egotistical movie star and the movie as a whole wasn't as good as it could've been.

You don't know that.

The only reason Stallone passed is because Paramount pulled the plug on his budget; he'd written several BIG action scenes. We could've been talking about one of the 80s action greats.
As I said, he did use them all in COBRA. The Cobra script is actually Stallone's Beverly Hills Cop script sightly rewritten.

Cobra was a low-budget movie. I doubt Cannon could afford to make a movie that Paramount passed on (even with Warners on board). Cobra was based on a novel called Fair Game.

It bears little ressemblance to the novel (that why Joel Silver remade it a decade later as Fair Game) and uses all the action sequences that Stallone wrote for Beverly Hills Cop.

But Cobra doesn't have any expensive action sequences that Paramount would've balked at. Just the usual car chases and shootings (which Murphy's BHC had anyways).

Edy Murphoid films just are poor, fond memories when your a kid, but most are just crap now. He makes pure shit now.

He should stick to banging spice girls and leave the films to Stallone, who is 10 times the star Murphoid is.

Have you seen Dreamgirls? If you "honestly" have then fair enough. His part is big enough to not say it's an Eddie Murphy film but big enough to show he still has it, if most of the time he chooses not to use it. He is brilliant in Dreamgirls, as are most other actors.

Personally I don't consider BHC1 or BHC2 just fond memories from my childhood (they're both 18s for starters, my parents were strict about that) and still love them.

Trading Places and Coming to America are also decent too, especially Trading Places. I'm not sure I'd buy them though. I've never seen The Distinguished Gentleman.

Stallone has now done Rocky and Rambo to death, does he have the talent to give us another decent film? He did, but today I'm not so sure.

They're both (uncut) '15's and always have been.

One of his best. Eddie was made for political satire.

I'm still waiting for Cliffhanger 2.............

Oh right. I thought they were 18s, regardless I wouldn't have been allowed to watch them.

Don't say it too loud as Stallone could be listening :D . Cliffhanger pretty good but there are much better action films.

Cliffhanger is one of Stallone's best.

Cliffhanger is a proper action film, unlike the shitty action we get today in films with awful CGI and pathetic blue screen stunts and PG13 fights.

I definitely agree. Maybe I should re-watch it. I remember the villain being weak.

I thought there was a BD but I cannot find one. I guess not.

John Lithgow is class with his cut glass English accent.

No BD yet. Sony will release it at some point this year I bet as it's a popular title.
