Drive is very much a Guilty Pleasure. It's very badly made.
What both you and LD miss is Guilty Pleasures to an extend are obviously very subjective. Pick your own if you think you can come with something better

I was clearly giving examples of a Guilty Pleasure. I wasn't saying all of them have to be badly made, acted, etc . . .

He was referring to Star Trek: The Motion Picture, not Exorcist 3.
Okay. It's incredibly dumb for most of it's running time.
I do think it's great though and prefer it to most of the Rocky films in fact (even though they technically are better). The Rocky films have never had much re-watch value for me.

Better than "Rocky"? It's your opinion of course and you are entitled to it. I'm just wondering how on earth it ended up in the guilty pleasure drawer then if its better than "Rocky", considered by many one of the best films ever made?
When I say better I don't mean "technically better" but better "IMO" for "me". Rambo 1 is technically a better made film to Rambo 2 but for me Rambo 2 is better. I just prefer it, as I do Demolition Man.
When I say Demolitan Man is a Guilty Pleasure I'm not comparing it in any way to the quality or Rocky. They different films. I like Rocky 4 but none of them I consider keepers and none of them I can remember much about. Sports films usually do nothing for me (I like Ali though but that's more realistic). It's not too surprising I cannot stand sports at all.
Star Trek: First Contact also gets props for being the only film that scared me as a child. The only other thing that I recall being scared of was a documentary series on pre-homo sapien man, no jokes.

The bit where the person is attacked by shears?
That made me jump when I was a kid. Haven't seen the film since.
The Director's Cut is a substantial improvement because they were able to finish it. The original cut was rushed into theatres so fast the print was still wet. There's a lot of CGI additions but unlike Star Wars or ET, it's very subtle

Sorry, I meant Star Trek: Director's Edition
The one for Exorcist III has never seen the light of day AFAIK

I think this thread is hilarious, your ashamed of loving a film haha and some of the sujestions are classic too, some brilliant films you feel guilty about!
The only films I feel "guilty" over and nasty ones which really should make you fee gulity for enjoying them. Such as films revolving around rape for instance.
Irréversible for instance is a superb film, but damn I feel guilty in a way as its bloody awful stuff and very off putting subject matter when the rape is so in your face. Same goes for some of them 70' and 80's slasher, gore and rape films, as some are great films.
Ow... I'm not ashamed of really liking or 'loving' these movies.
I'm saying that by all accounts they SHOULD be mediocre movies at best, story-wise, acting-wise, choreography, etc... but somehow they overcome their flaws by just being very entertaining.
I'm not ashamed of anything I like or dislike. Cant say I care much about what other people think about my own personal interests or favourite movies, music, games or whatever.
I was there, the big BNB blackout of november, 2008. We lost many that day...

I do say that, but sometimes some idiots get me wanting to lamp them in the head. It happened today acctually, some pratt who thinks he is a film expert (becuase he has seen 1 french film) saying how bad a film I liked was and saying it was "The Worst film he has seen in his life". I just shut up and let him go, as idiots in the public know everything. They think they know it all becuase they read it in the newspaper, I rarley correct any of the bull they speak as frankly, they are right all the time. The same dick said Waterworld was the worst film of all time and the biggest flop fo all time, again I shut up.
The net I can handle, but in real life face to face it can be a pain as I just want to correct the mistakes all the time, but people think your a total loon if I did.

My twin sister and I were shit scared of Jeff Wayne's War of the Worlds LP when we were kids. My parents couldn't play it for years. I now think it's utterly outstanding.
