No surprises there, I wish EiV would just go away; why the hell can't New Line distribute here :(
Well I guess you'll eventually get your wish now that New Line is going under. I think their DVD distribution wing wil be swallowed up by Warner, so I would expect them to take over the r2 distribution as well.

Really? Do you have any source links Shing?

That is pretty damn big news. It's a real shame New Line are going under, but I guess it's small blessing if it means EIV get their hands on at loss tittles.

I did not know that, that's quite surprising. Yeah that'd be great if Warner takes over, definitely.

If you think about it it won't really matter.

Warner Brothers support Region Free BD so you'll just be able to buy the American New Line BD instead but put out by Warner.

p.s - Thanks Shingster. I've split this this news off to it's own thread.

That's true, it'd still be better to be able to buy BDs in shops and stuff though, and it may sound stupid but I prefer the UK cases - the US ones feel cheap to me (with them being thinner).

Isn't it weird how people think differently. Everyone else (myself included) dislikes the fat space wasting cases.

Aussies cases are thick like UK ones (my Casino Royale is thing though). Personally I think the fat ones are ugly and waste space (it's not as if they need to be that big).

Agreed it's better to be able to buy in shops and online, not that I ever buy in shares (well rarely) as they usually rip you off.

At the end of the day as long as EIV don't get their grumpy mitts on them I'm not bothered.

I find it a bit odd you're calling the UK cases 'fat', since they're no fatter than DVD cases. The US ones just seem dead cheap, even my mate was like 'is that a pirate copy??' when he saw my Fifth Element one!

Your really sad that over the thickness of a case?

My Aussie ones are really fat (Casino is definitely thicker than a DVD case) but even my one fat UK one is fatter than DVD case. Besides why be this thick if you don't have to? The disc itself is so thin to start with.

I actually don't care much, but if I had to pick I'd pick the thin ones any day. I just thought it was odd when reading about it on forums you're the first person to actually prefer the fat ones.

There is a 2 page thread over at Import Forum and most hate them. I cannot provide a link as I cannot get into it any more.

thin cases are easily preferable for me-i've got 67 hd-dvds in a space where i probably had maybe 90 dvds.

Thin all the way for me, no room for fat ones at all! the thin ones are the perfect size.
