The HMV Bargains Thread!

'The Omen' is only for people not clever enough to 'get' 'The Exorcist'.

bradavon · Post by **bradavon** » 04 Apr 2008, 21:40

The Exorcist is decent a easily a keeper but it's also very overrated.

Markgway · Post by **Markgway** » 05 Apr 2008, 01:16

Most acclaimed films are overrated. Nothing can live up to the hype.

saltysam · Post by **saltysam** » 05 Apr 2008, 10:46

Planet of the Apes 2-disc SE is £3 in-store-absolute bargain if you aren't bothered about the sequels.

saltysam · Post by **saltysam** » 05 Apr 2008, 11:32

That really shows you how little you know about films at all.

If you think The Living Dead and Evil Dead films are big budget you are a loonball. They are cheap as chips trash horror films with fun on their minds.

Just like The Omen, The Exorcist is also another thinks its bigger than its horror roots like that, except that films shit and it also was not even close to Low Budget trash, it cost a absoulte fortune more than the others combined.

I wasn't addressing the budget aspect of your comment.

saltysam wrote:HMV in-store are doing momentum hd-dvds 3 for £20 or a tenner each.the likes of Pan's, Wolf Creek,The Host,Mullolhand Drive & Pianist are included.

Sadly not in my HMV

. I suspect your Liverpool HMV is a big one right?

Mine is a reasonable but not large size and thus they had:

Pan's Labyrinth
Wolf Creek
The Host

On so called Special for £10 but no 3 for £20 deal and the other Optimum HD-DVDs were nowhere to be seen. I didn't bother asking them to scan those three for the deal as I don't want them (except maybe The Host).

saltysam · Post by **saltysam** » 05 Apr 2008, 14:06

no,went to my hmv today and they were a tenner each, didn't bother asking them to scan.i took my info from a couple of posters at dvdforums, maybe it's only in a limited amount of stores

bradavon · Post by **bradavon** » 06 Apr 2008, 12:06

Fair enough, thanks anyway.

Did they have the Studio Canal HD-DVDs ports in your store (i.e - other than the three mentioned above)? I wonder if you had asked them to scan would the deal have come up.

As I specifically wanted La Haine & Mulholland Drive I didn't see the point finding out for me, the third I would've changed my mind on.

I'm pretty sure he meant it like, 'is it really that price again?'.

Grim isn't capable of being a prick, is he?

Thank you Gasteropod that is what I meant

I should have been clearer.

bradavon · Post by **bradavon** » 07 Apr 2008, 15:18

Eva knew what you meant

. If I thought you were being a prick I'd immediately re-think and know I must've misread it. This is you Grim

bradavon · Post by **bradavon** » 07 Apr 2008, 18:21

Thanks Salty.

£4.99 for Bourne Ultimatum is great. I only the other day picked up King Kong for £6.50, oh well.

Is Inside Man decent? That's the only one that interests me.

saltysam · Post by **saltysam** » 07 Apr 2008, 18:27

Inside Man is excellent.didn't think it was great on first viewing but caught it again on sky hd and loved it.waiting for sendit to ship my copy from their recent 2 for £10 offer.might get Waterworld at that price. what's the Good Shepherd like?

bradavon · Post by **bradavon** » 07 Apr 2008, 18:36

Thanks.

I've not seen it. It looked interesting at the time of release but got mediocre reviews.

romerojpg · Post by **romerojpg** » 07 Apr 2008, 18:41

romerojpg · Post by **romerojpg** » 07 Apr 2008, 19:04

Circle jerk haha

I found Jodie odious beyond words in the film mind you, she had the biggest dick of everyone, not hard when Spikes around mind you
