Imdb boards - constant source of entertainment...

Post by EvaUnit02 »

You get so many hillarious topics on the Imdb messages boards. Eg along the lines of "Once Upon a Time in the West is boring", "Paul W.S. Anderson is a good filmmaker", "So and so sucks cuz he's against America."

Here's an amusing recent example.

Also quite funny watching the user-rated "Top 250 Chart". I remember a while back there was a constant voting war between Godfather and LotR fanboys over which was ranked No. 1.

I know what you mean they talk so much tripe. There is one for "Underworld" where someone asks if Selena was her original name. Like it matters: Get a life!

LOL this follow up to your link is the best :D :

"He has been an American citizen for the last few years and resides in Illinois and I think being an American citizen entitles him to criticize his President because it is his Constitutional right. Now who looks like a dumbass? Research your facts before you post moron."

John Cleese happens to be very talented, intelligent and also well educated so making the original statement even more ludicrous.

Like Americans don't bad mouth foreigners. Don't get me wrong America is a great country and some of it's citizens clearly know of the world outside their borders but it's scary so many clearly don't have a clue. America is the best huh, yeah it's great huh, why would you want to live anywhere else huh. Please!

LOL thats funny :D To be fair though most people on the board don't side with that fool and disagree with him.
You are right Brad there are some that don't know/care/have a clue it seems. Bt not all. :)

its worth checking out a map of the US showing which states voted for which party, its incredibly, theres a large blob of red covering most of the centre (Bush) with a kind of thick border of blue around the outside(Kerry). Basically everyone near the sea, hence near other nations or at least with a no doubt slightly higher population of foreign bormn citizens are anti bush and those who are surrounded by america for 100s to 1000s of miles in every direction think he's great.

and yes I know that was a very basic and generalising explanation ;)

It is a generalisation but also largely true. Having said that I'd love to visit the states down south such as Texas. To see the "real" America.

I'm not sure Britain is greatly different.

Here's another funny thread. "CYF sucks cuz he hates America". Unfortunately a number of posts have been deleted by admin by this point.

Redneck yanks crack me up. I remember back around 2001/'02 there was an online petition to have "LOTR:The Two Towers" retitled since they thought it was disrepectful to 9-11. HAHAHA, TTT was written eons (mid 1940s-'50's if I recall correctly) before 9-11.

Yeah that was hilarious  Even funnier was the fact they forgot that, not just that TTT was writen years before, but the World Trade Center is known as the TWIN TOWERS and not the TWO TOWERS.

Jesusland. Sounds like a theme park.

Can we ride the Commandment teacups or stay at the Inn?

The Imdb boards are still as stupid as ever. I came across one thread last night that made me give a big sigh.

http://www.imdb.com/name/nm1285162/board/flat/162867488

Straight men shouldn't be allowed to be in musicals and/or major stage productions? Stealing the work of gay actors? Seriously? Facepalm.
