What's your favourite Van Damme film? (ROUND 2)

Post by Markgway »

This is a knockout tournament. Choose one title from each of the match-ups and post your choices. I will tally up the results and the first to ten from each match will go thru to the next round. You don't have to vote in every match so if you haven't seen a particular film it's not a problem.

See last post.

Instead I'll list the ones I've seen:

Timecop - Okay, passable
Street Fighter - Utter shit
Hard Target - Shit

I may have seen: Bloodsport and Kickboxer

Universal Solider looks quite good.

The trouble with the films I've seen Van Damme in are simply that Van Damme is such an utterly useless actor it's painful. He has no acting talent whatsoever. Steven Seilgal isn't a great actor but at least he has some ability.

I wish I had a bet on it being Brad who would fuck up this thread.

I asked for votes. I don't care what you've seen. Nobody does.

Sam and Romero, thanks.

I know. I said exactly that :?.

Nothing's fucked up. The thread looks like it's only just beginning. You asked for opinions I gave them. Don't start a thread if you only want selective contributions. It's called PM :D.

So many times I've started threads and you've decided to ignore what the thread says and post your own reply. What I've done is exactly the same.

My comments are no less valid than anyone else's. It's not my problem you cannot take it when some disagrees. Question: If I had said I loved all his films, would you comment? Of course not. So why comment now?

Besides I wasn't trying to be awkward. I just gave my constructive opinion to the films I've seen.

Anyway back to Van Damme!

If I had a bet on someone not understanding this thread it would be Grim.

You can't vote for Hard Target AND Timecop as they're up against each other.

Pick one.

And if you pick NRNS it means you're voting for it against Bloodsport.

Try again. I won't count your last post.

I asked for votes. Can you read? Not random opinions. Even ones as ill-informed as yours.

You really are a complete tube. Even if you posted that you loved all Van Damme films it still wouldn't be what was required. If I'm having to explain this to you I'm probably wasting my time. Suffice to say only you and Grim got it wrong.
Besides I wasn't trying to be awkward. I just gave my constructive opinion to the films I've seen.
Going onto a Van Damme thread and calling the very few films of his you've seen 'shit' is constructive??

The day you do as you're told. I'll do as I'm told ;).
Markgway wrote:Even if you posted that you loved all Van Damme films it still wouldn't be what was required.
That isn't what I said. My point being you only got agro because I disagreed with you. If I'd said I love his films, you wouldn't have replied (nor would anyone else) as you'd think I was right. Both would still be against your "set in stone rules".

Jesus fucking Christ. I just explained this to you. Are you fucking dense? It wasn't about disagreeing. It was about making a pointless post in this thread that had nothing to do with the aim. Some might even call it flaming.
Markgway wrote:I didn't. I gave reasoning too.
Your idea of reasoning and mine clearly differ. Brad please go away and stop making a nuisance of yourself. You don't like Van Damme and refuse to vote properly. Leave it at that.

I haven't seen that many of his films. I'll answer properly tomorrow.

Hard Target was decent from what I remember, it was long that I saw it.
Universal Soldier was pretty solid, one of Emmerich's only decent films.
The Quest was meh.
Legionnaire was okay.
Universal Soldier: The Return was complete garbage. I had misfortune of seeing this theatrically.
Street Fighter was bad, but very enjoyable.

Eva appears to have inherited the same inability to read virus as Brad.

Amazingly you have to remember Brad turned Hard Target off before the hour mark he said :D so his comments mean nothing at all in regards to that film as he has not even seen it, esspecailly the staggering end action 35 minutes.

Back at you. Seriously, you of all people shouldn't be telling me to stop airing my opinion when it's not directly connected to the original discussion. You do it all the time. I've had the exact same conversation with you reversed and your response always is "I'll do what I want. Screw you".
Markgway wrote:Eva appears to have inherited the same inability to read virus as Brad.
Give it a rest. People are doing as you've ordered them. I see many votes (myself included). This is a discussion forum. Like I said, you of all people shouldn't be telling people not to post general comments.
Markgway wrote:You don't like Van Damme and refuse to vote properly.
Huh? I have voted properly. I can only vote for films I've seen. As usual Romero hasn't got a Scooby Doo what he's talking about.
