Classic, you stated on this very site more than once you turned it off before it got to one hour into the film when you watched it on TV just over a year ago

I guess you rewatched it since then and watched the entire film  yeah right

Not quite. I watched what I'd missed before. You really are clever than you come across at times. Well done Mr. Pegg.

I'm quite surprised at how many Van Damme films some of you guys have seen; I don't think I've seen any at all! Well, Street Fighter but that's not exactly a 'Van Damme film'.

Brad, get out the thread, delete your posts & GTF!!

Anyways back on topic, some of those films were hard to decide between, there is a certain amount of nostalgia for me when it comes to so many of these films. For instance I remember watching Kickboxer with a few mates as a kid and then post viewing seeing my mate Willie Sinclair kick some boys ear right of his head!!

Shocking at the time but funny on reflection!! :)

Discussion is fine. But the main purpose was to vote: a bit of fun to find out Bullets' fave Van Damme film. We love 'B' movies on this forum. Not just to post idiocy. You first called Street Fighter "utter shit" then a couple of posts later intend to vote for it? You're clearly taking the piss, hence your votes have not been counted.

:o

You've seen only ONE Van Damme film? Now THAT'S surprising. My Mum has seen more than that! :D

Go to the videostore and immediately rent Hard Target and Maximum Risk for starters.

I didn't have much choice did I :D. I've only seen a handful of Van Dame films. Seriously, you honestly reckon Street Fighter is any good? Surely everything thinks it's pretty shit, no?
Markgway wrote:You're clearly taking the piss, hence your votes have not been counted.
Jeez Louise I wasn't intending anything of the sort. Why do members always presume the worst of folk on this forum?

You cannot even say it's because I said Street Fighter was shit, when you've not asked anyone else to quantify their reasoning.

You can hardly have a go at someone for stating an opinion then when I do as I'm told, my vote isn't count anyway ;). What was the point getting all hot under the collar saying I didn't bother to vote, if you had no intention of including my vote either way?

The most ridiculous thing is I was actually genuinely giving my opinion originally but because Van Damme fanboys will not tolerate their beloved fan being bashed it's turned into a rant.

I'm willing to bet no one will bat an eye lid at Gasteropod bashing Van Damme. I've even seen more Van Damme than he has :D.

Don't try me boy.... I'll throw you a beating and stll have time to watch a repeat of Death Warrant.

Seriously... these are good movies if you cut the pretentious bullshit and give them a chance. Never mind what the critics say. Judge for yourself.

It is shit. Which is why nobody has voted for it except you. You don't have to vote for something just because you've seen it if you didn't even like the bloody thing.
Jeez Louise I wasn't intending anything of the sort. Why do members always presume the worst of folk on this forum?
Not folk. Just you. Because you made your intentions clear with your earlier posts. You have a go at Romero and Sam yet THEY managed to do it correctly.
You cannot even say it's because I said Street Fighter was shit, when you've not asked anyone else to quantify their reasoning.
Becuase no one else posted like you did. So why should I doubt their sincerity?
You can hardly have a go at someone for stating an opinion then when I do as I'm told, my vote isn't count anyway ;). What was the point getting all hot under the collar saying I didn't bother to vote, if you had no intention of including my vote either way?
Your vote would have been included if you'd done it properly the first time round. But to say you've seen three Van Damme films and didn't like any and then vote for them is ludicrous. If you don't like Van Damme why are you posting in this thread? Do you have to post in every thread that exists? Is it a compulsion perhaps?
The most ridiculous thing is I was actually genuinely giving my opinion originally but because Van Damme fanboys will not tolerate their beloved fan being bashed it's turned into a rant.
That's bullshit. Don't play victim. You posted on this thread just to piss people off and you know it.
I'm willing to bet no one will bat an eye lid at Gasteropod bashing Van Damme. I've even seen more Van Damme than he has :D.
Gasterpod has been warned. He needs to step up his game. At least he hasn't slagged off a film then tried to vote for it. I think Eva misunderstood the context as did Grim. We'll see when he posts again.

Thanks for the votes.

You can still vote even if you've only seen one film, but I understand why you haven't.

The only one I did that for was Until Death, even though I haven't seen The Shepherd.

Maybe a mistake on my part? But it's not important. The most popular films will ultimately win thru.

I have done it correctly, why are you choosing to ignore votes?
Markgway wrote:It is shit. Which is why nobody has voted for it except you. You don't have to vote for something just because you've seen it if you didn't even like the bloody thing.
I didn't know that. Here is my revised vote:

1. Timecop - Presumably I don't have to think it's outstanding for it to count?

You're really making this far more difficult than it needs to be. I voted days ago, why continue to ignore it?
Markgway wrote:Your vote would have been included if you'd done it properly the first time round.
So I have done it right now, make your mind up :D. So I'm only allowed to get it right the first time. So Grim's vote isn't being counted then?
Markgway wrote:But to say you've seen three Van Damme films and didn't like any and then vote for them is ludicrous.
I didn't say anything of the sort. I said Timecop was okay, again presumably every film on everyone else's lists aren't films they consider outstanding?
Markgway wrote:If you don't like Van Damme why are you posting in this thread?
I only ask my vote be counted. Besides are you honestly saying you always ignore threads of films you dislike? Of course you don't.
Markgway wrote:Do you have to post in every thread that exists? Is it a compulsion perhaps?
Yes I do it to piss you off, please, stop talking bollocks.

There are plenty of threads I don't pay any attention too. I never bother to look in the "DVD Mystery" thread for example. Others are as active as I but I don't see you treating them badly. All I've done is post my opinion on some films (others did the same but that's somehow allowed) and then voted as requested (which is for some reason being ignored).

I was very sincere when I said I though Timecop was okay, passable. That's hardly saying I thought it was shit.
That's bullshit. Don't play victim. You posted on this thread just to piss people off and you know it.
I'm not playing anything, you and others have clouded vision when it comes to me. I did genuinely post my opinions sincerely, whether you choose to want to believe this, is your opinion.

You ask why I keep posting, think about it, you keep calling me a troll and a lier. Neither of which I am attempting to do. Why would I waste my time posting "just to piss you off?" You really must have a high opinion of yourself. Nothing was further from the truth. Of course you and others will never believe me, no matter what I say. Clouded judgement syndrome again.

Why would I spend ages writing up about HD for your benefit, if I disliked you? Remember?
At least he hasn't slagged off a film then tried to vote for it.
Your rules (of which there aren't many) don't say anything about giving or not giving context behind each decision. I thought I'd post about the films I have seen because it's so few. All you had to do was correct and I'd have voted correctly, all this other bullshit was completely unnecessary.

Case in point. Gasteropod says Van Damme is shit (which is basically what he said) and non one says a thing. I say the same thing and boom everyone jumps on me. Tigercage sends me abusive PMs and things get out of control.
I think Eva misunderstood the context as did Grim.
As did I :? . If two other members did, surely it's not hard to consider I may have to?

Haha, I didn't say Van Damme is shit, I jokingly said I'd rather watch something decent. It's no secret that Van Damme films aren't exactly 'decent', they're more like guilty pleasures than anything. True, I've only seen one or two, but I'm fairly certain I'm not missing out on any masterpieces here.

It's funny. I said basically the same thing yet I get pounced on, and you don't :?.

Mark seems to think most, if not all of Van Damme's films are decent.

Oh please. I can then ignore members when they go off, on one calling me a cunt and asking I drop dead, exact words I might add.

Exactly my point Brad.works both ways.in the last couple of days i've seen two threads go off track solely because you get people's backs up. if other forums can have an ignore button why not this one? i used to really like you Brad, seriously but the last 6 months you have been one royal pain the arse and i doubt i'm the only one to feel like this.

I'll count the Timecop vote. You're obviously serious about voting for that one. Grim made an honest mistake, you didn't. Gasteropod said he'd only seen one film, but didn't want to vote for it. You posted by slagging off Van Damme films, then backtracked once I gave you a hard time about it. Unless you've any more proper votes to add is there any need for you to continue posting here?
Besides are you honestly saying you always ignore threads of films you dislike? Of course you don't.
Often, yes I do. But if you held a poll about whatever films it is you like would you be happy if I posted in thread about how they were mostly shit, the actor was shit, and then when challenged tried to vote for them? I think not.
There are plenty of threads I don't pay any attention too. I never bother to look in the "DVD Mystery" thread for example.
That's because you're no good at it!
Others are as active as I but I don't see you treating them badly. All I've done is post my opinion on some films (others did the same but that's somehow allowed) and then voted as requested (which is for some reason being ignored).
I'm not explaining it again. If you don't get it by now there's no point.
I was very sincere when I said I though Timecop was okay, passable. That's hardly saying I thought it was shit.
Fair enough, which is why I've now counted your vote. But your trying to vote for Street Fighter WAS taking the piss. Admit it.
Why would I spend ages writing up about HD for your benefit, if I disliked you? Remember?
I'm not saying you dislike me, though you probably do now! :D But you seem to keep doing things that rub people up the wrong way. Either you have an uncanny knack or you are trying to piss people off.
Your rules (of which there aren't many) don't say anything about giving or not giving context behind each decision.
Common sense, man. Use it. The film is about favourite Van Damme films, not vote for any Van Damme film you might have seen no matter how shit you think it is.
Case in point. Gasteropod says Van Damme is shit (which is basically what he said) and non one says a thing. I say the same thing and boom everyone jumps on me.
Gasterpod's wink let me know he was being ironic in light of what I'd already said to you. He admitted he'd only seen Street Fighter so his opinion wasn't serious. He also didn;t then try to vote for it. He's been told off thoroughly and now has some catching up homework before he's allowed to post here again. I'm watching you, Pod! :x
Tigercage sends me abusive PMs and things get out of control.
That has nothing to do with me and I'm not advocating abuse of anyone. Anything I have to say to you will be said here.
As did I :? . If two other members did, surely it's not hard to consider I may have to?
I would have assumed that, had the tone of your post been different, but you made it hard for me to believe you didn't realise what you were doing. Regardless, vote counted, nothing more to say.

Go watch the films I recommended. If you still don't like him fair enough. But give them a chance. You can't judge all Van Damme films on the basis of what they might be like. And since Street Fighter is probably his worst (at least of his cinema films) you've got him at an unfair advantage. Go watch then feel free to post your real opinions and votes - if you have any.
