As some of you might have noticed, I decided to erase my posts on this forum (reminding you of someone we both know, Mark ?

). While I realize this may be seen as an awkward and possibly even unwelcome decision by some people, it's one I reserve my own rights and reasons about.

Suffice it to say, due to certain factors which have been becoming an increasing nuisance and source of irritation, I don't plan on posting on this forum anytime soon.

Normally, I would resort to reasoning with people and try to deal with the problem in the best possible way, as in fact I've done here in the past in other instances on which the same problem arose, but as it is and given BnB's current status quo, I'm sorry to state I just don't feel it's worth it. I simply have too many other and considerably more relevant things to waste my energies on. And while I don't wish to sound mysterious or leave people wondering about things, I'm also opting not to specify the exact factors that lead to my decision (other than stating it clearly that they are human in nature), the reason being that I wouldn't find it... correct... to turn my back and leave people here going for each other's throats for something that I, myself, don't think it's worth the trouble anymore. For those of you who are enjoying BnB for what it is at present, I wish the best.

I also don't want to make this sound too much like a goodbye, especially since the Internet is such a big and ever-changing, ever-evolving world - I hope and count on seeing at least some of you guys and gals out there in other forums and places. I'd just like to state my sincere thanks for people like Mordib (and before him, Toge, and before him, Jenz) for making it possible for places like this to happen, as well as all the nice people I've met and exchanged information, opinions, insults, laughs and jokes with here.

I'll never understand the decision to deleteall posts gone by, but if thats what you felt like you had to do then fair enough, freewill is an important thing round these parts

Actually I'd do the same if I had to leave BnB.
If I feel I'm not welcome anymore, I might as well take all my posts with me.

Can any1 explain to me what happened ? via PM maybe ?
I haven't noticed any problems with BnB lately (mod abuse, flame wars, censorship, insults).

I wouldn't find it... correct... to turn my back and leave people here going for each other's throats for something that I, myself, don't think it's worth the trouble anymore

so Tom, if you decided you didnt like a place anymore you would want to erase all history of you being there? I'm intrigued, please don't mistake it as a WTF kind of thing, I am just really interested to understand different peoples view pints on such things?

That would depend on the nature of the issue.

For example, on March 15th there was the infamous "cunt" incident.

I was getting ready to leave the forum in case the members decided to vote :" yes, ban the word "cunt "."
The problem is: a swear filter acts on all posts (meaning that all the posts I've ever written would be contaminated).

The only solution for me would then be to remove all my posts before leaving.

just on a side note can we please not let this turn into some kind of witch hunt?? the dude clearly doesn't want us to make a fuss, and as much as we all instinctively need to know what happened and 'right the wrongs of the world' if we follow this too aggressively the only person who suffers is Ice Angel, the guy that didn't want the fuss in the first place.

I AM NOT SAYING DON'T TRY AND FIND OUT, just do it privately so the whole world isnt given an insight in what might well be a very private disagreement.

I don't post so often on here, so I'm not really sure what provoked this. I'm sorry to hear someone leave (sort of) though.

However, with the removal of posts made it has made some threads a bit confusing (the top two stickies in th Bargains forum for example) ......

All I'm saying is that:
If Ice decided to remove all his posts, he must have had a very good reason to do so. There are now 153 empty posts in this forum, and I'd like to know why.

When I get my answer, I'll either:
-Get angry.
-Leave.
-or say "Bye-bye Ice, hope to see you again somewhere else".

Just a wild guess here:
If you had a problem with a member, you'd leave. However you wouldn't necessarily feel the need to destroy all your posts.
Ice had a problem with the forum itself. That means:
-either with the structure of the forum (can't see what it might be).
-or with a mod.

If it concerns a mod, it concerns the whole board.
Ergo: I wanna know.

Probably not. Except trade lists natch. It might depend on how pissed off I was or what situation arose to make me leave.

I'm sorry, but I feel I must object to the gratuitous use of the word "cunt". There is just no cunting excuse for that sort of language on a public forum like this. Think of the children. What will happen when they ask their parents "what a cunt is?" Or the little darling Timmy goes into school and it's "cunt this" or "cunt that". The thing is anyone going from a site like this isnt nice for everyone else and really it makes me think we have some phyco stalker or something on the site making it hell for others, and they should be banned if thats the case! not the person who gets the crap.

Though in my opinion this serves no purpose at all for Ice... if he were to leave - why not just do so? Why post a "lengthy" farewell? Why go to the effort of deleting his posts? Childish attention grabbing if you ask me - something I have no respect for at all.

And you all are giving him a lot more attention than he deserves after "messing up" over a 100 topics here by "...".

In my opinion, if someone tires of a forum they should just stop visiting.

I'm actually considering locking this thread. Ice has seen it so he knows how much he will be missed and all, I think just about every active member has seen it, and i'm pretty certain drama wasn't his intention by making this post, he merely wanted to say goodbye and didn't consider the drama it would create.

Any issues with members or staff will be dealt with as and when anyone comes to me with an issue, speculation does nothing but create a negative atmosphere.

I'll leave it open for say 24 hours in case anyone wants to voice any protests over the idea of it being locked (the wonders of democracy

)

It's the idea of it I didn't like... I suppose I'm sensative to children and guns then? I think the lack of context was a factor. Had the image been part of, say, American society's obsession with guns, then the image would be justified. But not as a singular joke. Not big on bad taste... though Degenerate obviously is. It's your right to have whatever avatar you wish. I was just making my feelings known. The image of Herr Hasselhoff is offensive in an entirely different sort of way....
