A 2002 Ford Focus Zetec 1.6 Hatchback, 34000 miles on the clock, Automatic. 3Hrs on the train to get it and 3Hrs to drive it back.

It has two "very" minor marks on it (which I should be able to fix myself), one I wouldn't have even noticed. That and the guy wanted a quick sale meant I got it for a very tasty £2350. About £650 under it's actual value.

p.s - It was a bugger to fit through my letterbox though

You can see the two marks it has, one is actually a scratch. I should be easily able to fix both with one of those bottles of "cover up liquid". I cannot remember what they're called.

The car is at my Dad's Girlfriend's house as it currently has no TAX. That will be sorted mid-week when the insurance documents arrive and I can then start driving it. Living in the middle of a city I'd definitely be caught for leaving it on a street but my Dad's Girlfriend's house it's off the road (and in the middle of nowhere) so is safe until I get the TAX disc.

How many kilometres has it done? A 1989 car is bloody ancient.

Wow... very nice looking car, man. And cheap as well, when I compare it to what that money would buy me here in Holland. Well done!

When I was in HK I drove past a used-cars salesmanship, and they had some REALLy nice cars for very affordable prices. Just one more of those things on my list that regrets me not living in HK. It's fun as hell as well to drive in HK!

Thanks. It's barely been driven in the last 2.5 years. He bought it for his disabled partner but she never ended up driving it. It's almost like new.

All the other Ford Focus's on eBay were around the £3000 mark (which is his second hand value).

Wow.... I guess here in Holland 2nd hand cars are just overpriced.

When I was browsing for a car to buy, I was kinda looking at Mazda 323 GLX from 94/95/96 or something (one of those looks very nice.... the others not so much), and they were all pretty much in the 2000-3000 euro area, and sometimes even more(!) Ridiculous for such old cars.

At the moment not looking for a car anymore. I hardly leave the house, only for groceries or to occasionally go somewhere with my girlfriend, or to go see a doctor or whatever. Nothing much to do here anyway.

Not a chance.

The company didn't have any money left to even pay us for the work we've done since the first of the month. I'm having to claim it from the government. The funny thing is, they deduct Jobseeker's allowance from whatever they give you, because they assume you're going to go on the dole, but I can't! I don't qualify for it!

What! Is that even legal? I doubt it is, you get your final wages and "then" go on JSA.

I'd definitely take them to the small clams court. Why don't you qualify btw? Not that you get much, you could never live off it alone.

It is tuppence, about £250 a month. Not that that helps you sorry. It sucks to be unemployed, I was for a year.

I meant is it legal for your ex-company to hold back money, as they're expecting you claim JSA. I'd be surprised if that is legal.
