OMG Woolworths and MFI have both gone bust. It's on the News now.
It says the larger big city stores in Woolworths are causing it to have massive debts, the smaller ones make money. It's been going nearly a century. It says 25,000 people are employed by Woolworths.
I cannot say I'm entirely surprised though, how often do you shop there? I barely ever do. They mostly sell tat.

Do you have Woolworths in Holland? I'm guessing not. It's actually not overpriced, sure DVD prices are but then they almost always are in shops.
The problem IMO is they mostly sell tat. They sell all manner of things from CDs, DVDs, clothes, toys, sweets and all sorts of other things but the clothes are of low quality, as are lots of the other things they sell. They're reasonably priced though.

Hi fellas/ladies,
How is everyone?
I'll give you a reason why Woolworths are crap. When dvds first came out, they used to put the discs in crappy cardboard sleeves, and when you got home your discs would be scratched to smithereens. Aside from that, quite a few things that they sell (e.g. DIY stuff, kitchenware), whilst not differing wildly in quality, you could get cheaper in the likes of Poundland, Wilkinsons. Also, in terms of home entertainment media, their promotions are usually inferior to competitors such as HMV and Zavvi. They also have zero internet brand presence.

Yes first time I bought a DVD in Woolies, they were kept behind the counter, and it was scratched to oblivion AND put in the case upside down!brooce-leroy wrote:Hi fellas/ladies,
