Tower delivery times?

Hi everyone.

I know that some of you have ordered from Tower before. Today I just ordered The Dark Knight on BD and it says it'll take 10-15 days to get here.

In your experience, does it usually take as long as this or not? I'm sure someone on here said that Tower actually send discs from in the UK to avoid customs charges.

I hope so anyway, as with the current exchange rate it worked out as £18.14!

i got a £57 box set bought for my brother through fine the other day.currently have the Apes blu-ray set on the way as well.

How come you went for the USA BD? It costs more than the UK one. Sure it has BD Live and Digital Copy extra but big deal IMO. The BD Live I'm sure checks your IP address anyway.

I couldn't care less about BD Live functionality. In my opinion BD Live is a complete waste of resources on Blu-ray and they shouldn't have even bothered with it. All it does is give you a few production notes / downloadable trailers on most discs; something which any tech-savy person (which lets face it, is who BD is aimed at) would be able to find on the Internet anyway.

Digital Copy is pointless too. I'm not bothered about that. I really just prefer USA BD cases as they're a lot thinner & I'm very limited for shelf space. Plus I hate BBFC logos over everything.

My Batman Begins BD is the US version and I just wanted The Dark Knight to match.

I agree about BD Live and Digital Copy btw too. BD Live has potential (such as the live commentaries the yanks only get

) but so far it's largely been squandered. Digital Copy is a good idea on paper but due to the amount of DRM they use I'll never bother with it. It's easier to download DivX/Xvid bootleg and convert that.

I just hope they haven't all been taken from the same master. I'll be sure to check out that scene and see if it is indeed uncut on the US disc...

Now you mention it I seem to recall that in the cinema. My UK BD is as described. Not that I'm bothered.

All the complaints over what is actually a 12 rated movie were pathetic. Ignorant fucks complaining they wouldn't take a 10 year old to see The Dark Knight. Good - It's TWELVE rated.

Actually it was 12 rated at the cinema, the A means "if our child is capable of watching" material meant for 12 years or older take them.

It doesn't mean it's suitable for under 12s, as those who complained thought.

Actually, NO, it wasn't a 12 at the cinema. It was a 12A. 12A means a child under the age of 12 may see the film if accompanied by an adult. I'm well aware of what the 12A certificate is for. It replaced the 12 certificate a few years ago, so no, The Dark Knight was NOT a 12 at the cinema.

I'm very impressed with Tower, my BD turned up today!

It says "2 Disc Special Edition" on the cover but its actually 3 discs. Is the UK version like this?

I'll have to watch it tonight & check on the "Why so serious?" scene...
