Maybe it is just me then? I don't particularly like comments about my Mum (or Dad for that matter). It's one of the few areas I'm a touch sensitive about.

Don't worry Yi. I know you were just playing. We're cool. But if somebody says "I don't like something especially..." I try to respect that. Just like Brad being sensitive about his closet homosexuality.

With the company i keep i dont think there could be any area i could be sensitive about. I have heard every insult and maw joke under the sun.

A bit of verbal is exactly that, it cant break any bones or hurt too much! :)

Sometimes things sound, or ARE, disrespectfull to some, while they certainly weren't meant that way. I know you understand I didnt mean any disrespect (not any more than usual :P ), but I guess it always matters who says it, how they say it, where they say it, etc.

Anyway, it was 'just' an easy 'mum' joke. The kind that just takes less than a second to pop into your head, and I felt I could make the joke, considering the way we all communicate with eachother here for years now anyway :P

Wasnt meant 'offensive' or 'disrespectful', but you know that :)

OK. I'll lighten up. I guess there's nothing wrong with mum-related sex jokes as long as there's no malice intended. I think it's maybe the older my Mum gets the more protective I feel. Perhaps unduly so? My parents are the only people in the world I've ever truly loved so it can touch a raw nerve with me; but I forgive all jokes - past and future. If you can't have a hearty laugh what's the point, right??

Like I said, it differs from person to person what they find offensive and are comfortable with.

Personally, I can take it from pretty much everyone if they say something about my mom in a 'joking-way'. Not that many do or ever did. If there's menace involved, obviously it's a different matter. ;)

I know my 'sense of humour', if you can call it that, isnt for everyone. I have a chinese girlfriend and apparantly you cant joke about pretty much anything or anyone with them :P Cant make jokes about death, about planes crashing, about anything basically that could 'upset' any ghosts or old people or whatever. Obviously, I usually dont abide by those rules, so I still call her 'lo poh!' (wifey) constantly even when her parents or family are around, and when she's trying to keep me on a leash I usually end up strangling her with it :D
