2006 England World Cup Song!

Post by grim_tales »

We're On Our Way to Germany

(To the tune of Is This The Way To Amarillo - with apologies to Tony Christie)

shalala lala lalala
shalala lala lalala
shalala lala lalala

When the day is dawning
on a frosty german morning
we cannot wait to be there
jules rimet whos waiting for us there

every german city
where we all get pissed
no it wont be pretty
but it just can't be missed

is this the way to Hertha Berlin
Its 40 years we've been hurting
Dreaming dreams of English glory
But that will end in Germany

show me the way to Bayern Munich
Where they say Vorsprung Durch Technik
England fans can't wait to see-e
Becks lift the cup in Germany

shalala lala lalala
shalala lala lalala
shalala lala lalala
were on our way to germany

On the 9th of july
when a million germans will cry
when they see the England
become champions in their own homeland

in the olympic stadium
when we win the cup
there'll be such a party
which will never sto-op

is this the way to Hertha Berlin
Its 40 years we've been hurting
Dreaming dreams of English glory
But that will end in Germany

show me the way to Bayern Munich
Where they say Vorsprung Durch Technik
England fans can't wait to see-e
Becks lift the cup in Germany

shalala lala lalala
shalala lala lalala
shalala lala lalala
were on our way to germany

shalala lala lalala
shalala lala lalala
shalala lala lalala
were on our way to germany

shalala lala lalala
shalala lala lalala
shalala lala lalala
were on our way to germany

:D Its' not my song unfortunately, stolen from somewhere else ;)[/b]

WooHoo!!! A footie thread!!!!! Be warned, when I am referred to as a "soccer mom" it is NOT an honorary title. Dare I ask, who are you backing for 2006?

I'll be in red, tho I won't be there with my other friend's in Sam's Army, rooting for the USA. I already warned my boss that I'll be taking time off, if necessary, for this Cup so I can head for the pub with friend's to watch the matches. That last Cup damn near killed me with all the games on TV in the middle of the night!!

When I find our song, I think I'll tag it on right here...might as well get the competition started, eh?
Any day you can get out of bed is a good day.

ther first thing i will be supporting is the failure of england, as it will reduce the amount of drunken morons roaming the streets and filling the pubs. After that whoever is proving to be the underdog of the tournement will get my support ;)

Yeah, I was too. The real winners (though S Korea had a little help  ) were S. Korea and Turkey IMO! :D

AGREED!!! Wasn't that wonderful to watch!? For me, the most exciting game I've watched was in the Women's cup when the USA gals won. There I was, the only gal in a room full of guys watching the match. What was really great is my soccer buddies always show me love and respect, and knew how happy I was seeing a Women's team play soooo damn well in a sport I love. Because of the way schools here treated girls when I was young we were NEVER allowed to have a team of our own. ANY sport. It was just for the boys.

Know when I started playing soccer???? Just before I turned 43. And that was many years ago. I still play every Sunday, all year round.

How many teams will be supported by folks on this board? Haven't been here long enough to know who's from where.

Hey,
Has anyone heard the "official" 2006 WC song World At Your Feet by Embrace? Its' not bad, but its' a bit dreary IMO and doesnt have a good hook. Who'll be singing that on the terraces? :?
