I've just tried listing 3 UK DVDs for Sale at Play. I don't expect them to sell but you never know. I only have 3 UK DVDs left. The listing stays live for 2 months :D

EDIT: OMG you have to wait 21 days before you can withdraw cash once you've added your bank details.

I've given playtrade another go and listed some stuff there. Ebay has been a real struggle lately, for instance i think if you now list a dvd at 99p it's free but if it sells at that price after paypal and postage it's costing you money :? i've factored in play's cut and postage and listed accordingly.i've sold 3 already this week.you can also list Region 1 discs there now as well.it's not great but ebay has become so frustrating.

Thanks. Yeah the free postage sucks. It's effectively killed 99p listings for DVDs/CDs. I am forced to bump the price up. I've not tried since the change. We'll see.

Have you tried adding postage to the cost and see if it sells? If so, how did it go?

I've sold a couple at £2.50,factor in postage and fees and it's a virtual giveaway.Far easier for me to put on playtrade and set the price i want taking into account their commission.

Thanks. I'll give eBay ago and see if I can sell any, if not I'll give Playtrade ago. I didn't have much luck last time.

I was going to sell at £3.50/4.50. I don't know if they'll sell at that price. I used to:

99p - Starting price
£2 - Postage
£2.50 - Buy-it-Now

A surprising number of people went for the BIN price at £4.50. I may drop the Starting price entirely and just sell at £4.50 BIN but this does look off putting, oddly £2.50 + £2 looks cheaper than a flat £4.50.

This change has made it so much harder to sell DVDs/CDs on eBay , like you say you can no longer sell DVDs for 99p starting price. Which lets face it is by far one of the biggest draws.

At least Blu-rays are still sellable. I reckon I'll try for DVDs:

£4.50 - BIN
£3.50 - Starting price, maybe £3 (which is what I used to get before)

I'd certainly only sell at 2nd class postage. I used to always sell at 1st class as people understandably got funny when you charged £2 postage but now as it's "free" they'll just have to wait.

Sold 5 discs in a week on Playtrade. ones that would've made 99p on ebay i've managed to make a £2.50-£4 each on after costs.not bad.

That is good. So you sold them for £2.50 to £4 with free postage? I may have to do the same. I'm waiting until I have a few more to sell first.

I thought on Play you only get credit to spend on Play though, rather than money.

Nope. You can withdraw it. You cannot withdraw for the first 28 days or something when you first open the "Playtrade" account.

Despite their fees i'm much preferring to use this at the moment as opposed to Ebay. Great shame as the old ebay was much, much better.

Thank christ only BD/DVDs/CDs have enforced free postage. I have about a dozen discs to sell. I'm planning to sell in the next month or so.
