Eva, I originally intended this thread as "personal must buys, no matter when released". "Someone" later changed the topic title and made it sound like it was about upcoming disc.
But as far as upcoming discs go (the ones I didn't mention yet) I'm looking forward to Cinema Epoch's Bad Girl Mako, Criterion's Nikkatsu Action series, R2J Tokyo Sonata, and, well, most likely majority of the stuff Toei announces.

The price is not so bad for Euro customers, but purchasing german dvds is a bit complicated. The shipping costs are high, there aren't that many webstores, and most webstores don't carry 18 rated films (making it difficult to make a big order from one store)Markgway wrote:I'm after that myself but German DVDs are too expensive (and made worse by the dogshit £).HungFist wrote:R2 DE

Universal owns the distribution rights (and the rest of the Studio Canal library) to T2 in the Australasian region, so they'd just circulate that Studio Canal barebones HD-DVD port-over. We MIGHT get a SE much later.bradavon wrote:Any reason you getting the USA one? I have it on pre-order from Play but only picked it, as it's cheap.

Yes, but it doesn't affect on the price. Mark said that german dvds are expensive, with the situation being made worse by the weak course of £. But the currency rate fluctuations don't affect on Euro customers. The prices are the same as they were two years ago.bradavon wrote:There's still over 30 economies in Europe, some are in deep shit and others not so much.HungFist wrote:Anyone who gets his salary in Euro (€).
Of course, if you just lost your job because of the economy, then the dvds may appear "expensive"...
Right now amazon is selling The Prodigal Son for 9€. Not a bad price.

CowardMarkgway wrote:Amazon. de I take it? So you have to add several € in postage. Also I'm not comfortable placing an order on a website without English interface.HungFist wrote:Right now amazon is selling The Prodigal Son for 9€. Not a bad price.
I've made orders in all the possible languages I don't know
And amazon probably does have english option. Can't remember for sure. Anyway it's the same system globally. If you have an account at amazon.co.uk, you also have an account at com, fr, de, and jp.
Just click 'ok' seven times and you're done
