It's the principal, not the amount.
That's just stupid. You could say the same about being charged an extra penny over last week. It's £3 no matter how you look at it, it would be quite different if we were talking a fiver or tenner etc...
If I buy food to eat in the cinema I smuggle popcorn/candy in (not paying cinema prices!)
Good man. I see nothing wrong with this when they rip us off.

With the rape scene removed I'd consider it but with this scene it's a definite no purchase for me. I'm not normally dead for removal of whole scenes but this one is so sick and COMPLETELY out of place, it's just disgusting it was left in.

I enjoyed it except that scene.

That's one of the other scenes cut from the Malaysian print. When I watched it in the cinema and then on Bootleg VCD I was shocked how much had been removed.

The Malaysian censors cut basic kissing if it goes on too long.

I saw one film where they cut a shot of a dude taking off his shirt.

But they left in graphic violence and drug use.

They're forking nuts.

How about Thai censorship? A guy shoots another man's brains to the wall, and they pixelate the cigarette in his mouth...

You've obviously never seen a good quality VCD then. The official Thai Blade VCD for example is excellent quality, except for the burnt in Thai subs. Easily much better than many DVDs. Most VCDs are let down by the woeful source material the distributors use, not the format itself. Obviously the spec. isn't DVD quality but it sure beats VHS.

At the time I didn't think Naked Weapon was good enough to own on DVD. I later on bought the HKL DVD, which later on again I sold. The film is ruined because of "that" scene. I know some get their kicks out of watching such degradation. I don't.

That's an insane joke too.

I saw Music and Lyrics at Thai cinemas and they pixelated the massive Buddha statue on the back of the stage, during the concert at the end. It made the scene almost unwatchable, given that the statue was so big.

...whereas Hugh Grant's presence made the rest of it watchable?

Hugh Grant is good, given the right material.

Four Weddings and Notting Hill are excellent British comedies. Of course this isn't in the same league, but I still enjoyed it more than I thought I would. It's definitely better than Two Weeks Notice.

Hugh Grant is also excellent in About a Boy. In other words, he should stick to British comedies.

I was kidding about Grant BTW. I totally agree with you, with the right material he's great.

He totally shines in those the Richard Curtis comedies. He's even better when he's playing a womanising arsehole, like he does in the highly underrated About a Boy and Bridget Jones I.

But oh God, he's also been in a lot of rubbish films. Remember Mickey Blue Eyes?

Can't stand Richard Curtis comedies but Grant has a good sense of dry wit about him. Frankly he was the only bearable thing about those movies.

I have a Thai DVD that posts a warning subtitle anytime someone lights up a cig. Bizarre.
