1% would do me fine
hell even 0.1%
over $1BILLLLLLION in 3 weeks is mental beyond words,
and rising by the hour
it would be hilarious if it beats Titanic, which the way it is going up it has a chance now, who would have thought it (not me).

Well it makes perfect sense because it's a film you have to go see at the cinema, if you leave it till DVD/BD or download it you can't watch it in 3D for ages.

Amazingly a lot of people I know have the pirate, and think it is just as good as the cinema (they may well have never been to the cinema in years, but they just know haha)
cocks they are.

Be interesting to see how the likes of this shapes up to the likes of Jaws & Star Wars as Ticket prices have probably quadrupled since they were packing them in.

I am still not sure how the totals work with 3D, £9 at our local to see it, is frankly nasty! but I am not quite sure if buying 3D Glasses and use of 3D fee cinemas ask for is in that box office tally.

Just watched Double Impact. Entertaining actionflick, and nothing more than that. Nice to see western movies set in Hong Kong, but I'm always annoyed that you pretty never can recognize the locations, even though I've been all over Hong Kong in the 4 times I've been there.
I was there, the big BNB blackout of november, 2008. We lost many that day...

Blade 2 4/5
Terrific sequel, though the BD transfer shows up some of the dated CGI effects horribly.it's so long since i saw this i completely forgot Donnie Yen is in it.! he's rather wasted though.

The ending of Les Diaboliques is brilliant. The film is actually very good.

Not always, mine costs the same as a standard film (around £6 or something).grim_tales wrote:It is although 3D cinema prices are higher.

Depends on how the chain splits the cost, IIRC Cineworld (here in the Midlands) charge you for the ticket, then add a concession charge for the 3D showing, then charge you for the glassess if you haven't already got a pair, so I would have thought there only the ticket charge counts towards Avatar's stats. Somewhere like IMAX just charge you for the ticket, so the full price counts towards the stats.romerojpg wrote:I am still not sure how the totals work with 3D, £9 at our local to see it, is frankly nasty! but I am not quite sure if buying 3D Glasses and use of 3D fee cinemas ask for is in that box office tally.
I finally got round to seeing it today in Birmingham with Kev Gilvear and he mentioned that he thought it had raked in over $700million and I said that can't be right, $700million in a couple more weeks maybe. Boy was I wrong!

Mishima: A Life in Four Chapters (USA / Japan, 1985) – 3,5/5
Paul Schrader’s Yukio Mishima biopic went through a lot of trouble; the cult author’s widow put up pressure against the production, and Schrader found himself directing “a film financed by one one”. “It was a strange feeling of freedom”, the director stated after Toho, who had already invested a couple of millions into the film, denied having anything to do with it. The Japanese money counted for half of the budget, the other half came from the US through exec. producers Francis Ford Coppola and George Lucas. All the controversy in Japan, where the film has never been released outside a TV screening, is however more due to the passionate Mishima followers than anything Schrader put in the film – a couple of brief moments suggesting of the protagonist’s homosexuality. The film is a visually stunning art house movie with a cleaver structure. Instead of flashback overload Schrader uses Mishima’s theatre plays as an indirect tool for characterization. Ken Ogata stars, and supporting cast features interesting selections from Yasuaki Kurata to pop star Kenji Sawada (who starred in The Man Who Stole the Sun, scripted by Paul’s brother Leonard).

The Curious Case OF Benjamin Button 4/5
This reminded me a lot of Forrest Gump in the way the story was told. It was a really good film, and had my girlf in tears a lot of the way through and blubbing her eyes out at the end! I may have shed a manly tear or two as well. Highly enjoyable but not a watch again film for me. And who would have thought Brad Pitt could be someone other than himself in a film!!

Halloween 4.5/5
Justifiably legendary slasher does everything right:superb performances,a creepy atmosphere and a brilliant memorable music score to boot. The blu-ray probably looks as good as this low budget classic ever has.

Lion of the Desert - 5/5
Haven't seen this one in 15 years or so. Just recently got hold of a new German DVD release of this.
The film is about Omar Mukhtar (wonderfully played by Anthony Quinn) and his rebellion against the Italian occupation of Libya. It is set in 1929/1930 the final months of the rebellion after Mukhtar and his men had already fought for over 20 years with horses against tanks.
After watching this film you won't believe that Anthony Quinn isn't Muslim due to the man's great acting.

Pulp Fiction
Forrest Gump
The Shawshank Redemption
All three are very good but Pulp Fiction is much more original than the other two.

You think Forrest Gump is better than The Shawshank Redemption? OK, now I know you're crazy. Life is like a box of chocolates? Fuck off.
There's a good reason why it's at No.5 on this list:
